Listen, the schools of America are as segregated, if not more segregated, today than when I was in elementary school,” Harris said. “Where states fail to do their duty to ensure equality of all people and in particular where states create or pass legislation that created inequality, there’s no question that the federal government has a role and a responsibility to step up.”

What a ditz. Perfect example of not knowing history and being detached from the reality of daily life. People HATE having their kids bused to schools outside their own neighborhoods.
As a mom in an middle to upper middle class suburb full of soccer moms, (probably a mix of conservative and liberal in our area) I really believe no matter what they say, that is where the “progressive” parents would draw the line in the sand on living out their “progressive” beliefs. Parents pay top dollar to buy houses in this suburb, and pay high property taxes. Getting their kids into good schools and universities is their highest expectation for their kids and why they make that sacrifice. All other goofy liberal agendas will fall by the wayside if their darling kids are threatened to be bussed to inner city areas or have those kids from poverty areas bussed in here.
No matter what they say, most liberal soccer moms are only saying and doing those things to be accepted as “cool” by their other goofy friends. If it involves ANY sacrifice, they will be out in a heartbeat. I’m sure someone somewhere will dream up an acceptable reason “too much carbon emissions etc” so that they can pretend it is not just normal parental self interest and concern for what is best for their kids. It will be fun to watch scrambling to make sure their kids don’t have to be bussed while trying to maintain the illusion that they still deep down believe in progressive ideas.
If Kamala Harris sticks to this dumb idea, it will be a gift that keeps on giving for Trump. If he words his responses correctly he might actually even get some of the progressive soccer moms on board with him permanently, not just for this election.
This is hard for the Republicans to understand, but if they do want to use busing as an issue, they need to use the term FORCED BUSING, not ‘busing’, or no one will even have a clue as to what it means.

They closed the inner city school my Sophomore year, and bused the ghetto retards to the three remaining Wilmington DE schools. My school went from a top notch public school, to a complete dump.

Leaving aside this should be a state rather than federal issue, his will go over well with real estate taxpayers. The obvious solution would be state wide school districts. Families in more affluent areas can send their kids to private schools with the savings. Like insurance, we’ll just have to make private schools illegal. She has a knack for what will be popular issues in the non large urban areas the dems need to win.

That was the issue in Delaware with the federally mandated bussing. The suburban kids were being bussed into the city of Wilmington and the city kids were bussed into the suburbs.
Biden was entirely right with his stand on this issue.

As mentioned here elsewhere, liberals talk a good game but when it comes to their children, why they are simply not going to send their children to a crime-ridden "ghetto" school. Especially when they are trying to get their precious "Tiffany" and "Todd" into a good college.
You should see the schools that these limousine liberals send their kids to in such tony Boston suburbs as Weston, Carlisle, Hingham and Dover. They are 99% white with a smattering of Asians. Smart and polite Asians.
