Our 35 yo daughter is visiting us for the week with her two little ones. I honestly am beyond words at the insanity that comes out of her mouth. In fact, she cited the Matthew Shepherd murder, saying gays are dragged behind cars and slaughtered. Rapinoe is a hero of our time and will be a historical figure fighting for the rights of gays. Donald Trump the rapist living in the WH should be in prison for life, especially for his hatred against blacks and gays. I told her I wanted to see the statements DJT has made about gays and blacks, I would give her a day. She came up with NOTHING. Can’t even remember her crap on global warning.
I am sick and frankly, I just want her to leave, it breaks my heart that I feel this way.

And people such as Obama, who speak of the arc of civil rights “from Selma to Stonewall” as he once put it, seek to link homosexuality to the right to vote and other rights.
I sometimes wonder if that line “from Selma to Stonewall” was original with Obama, and/or which speechwriter came up with that line and thought he/she was so clever in doing so.

I pray for your and your family. I’m sure it is heartbreaking for your daughter to believe all the rhetoric and propaganda.
I have some liberal leaning people in my family. But they are more old line liberals. One of my older aunts, since passed away, when discussing the onset of homosexual marriage, said, well, keep it behind closed doors, don’t flaunt those marriage licenses, keep it away from the children. She was liberal in her thinking, but not “leftist” if I can use that term.
I know someone similar. This individual gets news passively, off of a smartphone news feed, and believes every word of it. No critical thinking or logic or curiosity at all.
Stonewall was basically an attempted mob bust that went wrong. Most gay bars have been mobbed up as far back as Prohibition. Al Capine, Frank Nitti, etc figured out early on that homosexuals tend to be heavy drinkers with $$$$ to burn.
When we were debating gay issues and I was being as nice as I could but saying it wasn’t Rapinoes gay lifestyle that was an issue, it was her disrespect for the flag, the presidency and the country she is representing. She then grabbed her 5yo and 7 yo, running with them to the bedroom to PROTECT them from my “hate speech”.
I swear I could have thrown her out of our home.
My best friend has a rabid liberal DIL, it is a nightmare for my friend because the DIL is always flaunting it in her face. (The DIL is a vagina pu$$y hat protester and actually wore it to a family event my friend was having.).
My parents are like this.
My dads side of the family is extremely left wing. My sister and I are the black sheep. It gets lonesome at times.
