MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview published on Thursday that liberal values were obsolete because they had been rejected by the majority of the people in Western nations.
Putin told the Financial Times newspaper that German Chancellor Angela Merkel had made a cardinal mistake by adopting a liberal policy towards immigration from the Middle East.
“The liberal idea presupposes that nothing needs to be done. The migrants can kill, plunder and rape with impunity because their rights as migrants must be protected. What rights are these? Every crime must have its punishment,” Putin said in the interview.
“So, the liberal idea has become obsolete. It has come into conflict with the interests of the overwhelming majority of the population,” he said.
Putin said Russia is not homophobic, but that a Western willingness to embrace homosexuality and gender fluidity seemed excessive to him.
“Traditional values are more stable and more important for millions of people than this liberal idea, which, in my opinion, is really ceasing to exist.”
Putin also said he had the impression that liberal circles were set on using problems being experienced by the Catholic church to destroy the church.

I agree with Vlad about the Catholic Church scandal. About 90%of cases involved a priest with a post-pubescent male between about 12-18 years. This is a classic example of homosexual behavior. Yet, the news media which champions the gay/alphabet sexual deviants will not acknowledge this fact.
So, the news media condemn the clergy for behaving like most gay men, and raise the rainbow flag in every other instance. I guess it is too much to expect consistency from them.

So, Putin’s endorsement of the conservative policies allows the liberals to claim conservatives are in the pocket of Russia.
This is what Putin did for the Democrats. He praised Trump and allowed them to say Trump is in Putin’s pocket.
Putin does not want Trump as POTUS....he would have preferred Clinton as she can be bought and is more aligned with Putin’s communism.

I agree that Putin is not to be trusted but that has nothing to do with the truth of what is said here. He is absolutely right.

Never forget, Putin (and Russia as a whole) were our FRIENDS from the end of the Cold War (about 1990) to 2014.
What happened in 2014? Two things: Russia invaded and annexed Crimea (which is 90% Russians, and wanted to be part of Russia) and Russia decided that it wasn’t a good idea for gays to be recruiting children.

Socialism/Communism fail once the left starts killing people. We are two liberal SCOTUS picks way from getting rid of guns. Do you think that once the left has congress, whitehouse and SCOTUS they won’t start taking away our guns and gunpoint if necessary? All they need to do is win and then pack SCOTUS and every court that leans conservative with radical leftist justices.
Our country right now is fragile. The only way to bring it back to some semblance of order is to make radical changes to how lefties take our rights to free speech.
