Why don't you tell him what I tell my white son: if a policeman stops you, then you do exactly what he tells you. Answer with "Yes, sir" and "No, sir."
Dear Bill.... BS!

Kid probably says: “Do you know who I am?”
“I just said, tell them your Dad is the Mayor.”
Did I get it right?
Did he tell his kid to elect on the spot trial by combat with the police? That causes 99% of the problems.

You could have been my dad......
Duh! Too obvious for Kaiser Wilhelm's brain.
Doesn’t matter what you told him, he is doomed
Hope he told him there’s no right to resist arrest just because he is black. That he should submit to arrest and then sue — if he has a case.
” Why don’t you tell him what I tell my white son: if a policeman stops you, then you do exactly what he tells you.”
Show ID (registration if driving). Be polite of course. Say nothing of consequence. But if they ask if they can search you, your papers, your bags, or your car or anything similar you’d be a fool to comply. Being dragged into being a witness is also something that you should consider avoiding because you could become a target.
Anything said can be used against you. Citizens can certainly politely ask police why they are being stopped and if they are free to leave. If you are arrested, you should never say anything of course until you can talk to a lawyer. Police are to be respected, but doing anything or exactly what they say without consideration of your rights can be stupid and dangerous.
When you have this conversation with your son, teach him the BOR. We don’t need people to continue to ignore their constutional rights. It’s not Mayberry RFD anymore (if it ever was) .
BOOM! RIGHT OUT OF THE GATE! Yep, it's exactly what my white District Court Judge advised to my white, dumb, and very privileged teenage butt. I broke the rule once and played the "Judge Daddy Card". The officer looked at me blankly and said "No wonder you're so indignant." I grew up a bit that day.
“Mayor Bill de Blasio: Ive Had to Have Serious Talks with My Black Son About How to Deal with Police”
Did you tell him not to commit crimes?
DemoKKKrats are definitely the party of racism. Too bad Comrade Dimwit de Blasio can’t see part the (partial) race of his son and talk about the content of his character instead of his victimhood.
Hey de Blasio check your white commie privilege.
That’s what I was thinking. I told my children that, unless an officer was actually taking criminal liberties with them, they should always just do whatever the officer says. If they think it is wrong, they should say “I am not doing this voluntarily, I am doing this because you have ordered it, and I do not give permission”.
THat way, when I get the lawyer involved, we can fight it in a place where we have protection, not out on the street at night.
I don’t know why anybody who actually FEARED cops would do any less.
BTW, I am an old, white, male. I have been questioned by police while out in my car over 6 times in the past year. All because I now play that silly “Pokemon” game, which means I am out on the street parked by the curb at night, near government buildings, or driving slowly through neighborhoods. Never had a problem with them, and they are pretty well informed now about Pokemon Go, but I doubt there is a black person who has been pulled over more often.
I didn’t get pulled over when I didn’t drive in a manner that was suspicious.
Must be he taught him what to say if caught by the police.
I was scared.
These aren’t my pants.
I dint do nothin’ wrong (repeat Ad nauseam).
What’d I do? (repeat Ad nauseam)
Deblasio’s kid can just say “Don’t you know who my father is? I’ll have your badge!”
Don’t break the law and you won’t get stopped by the po po.
All he has to do is whip out his, “Don’t you know who I am? I’m de Blasio’s son and you’ll be in big trouble is you arrest me” card.
