In a presidential debate with nine candidates and one Beto O’Rourke on stage, it’s hard to stand out. So tonight, Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard leaned on her credentials as a military veteran and her reputation for restrained foreign policy, taking a hard stance on the Trump administration that’s sure to stand out.
She said:
The president and his chicken hawk cabinet led us to the brink of war with Iran. I served in the war in Iraq at the height of the war in 2005, a war that took over 4,000 of my brothers and sisters in uniforms' lives. The American people need to understand this war would be far more devastating, far more costly than anything we saw in Iraq.

Could someone clarify what her point is? The last hawk I saw killing a chicken was a big Cooper’s hawk, it hit one of my grandmothers red hens. It rolled it, struck once, and was leaving the yard with the hen when my uncle put a load of #4 bird shot in it. Dead hawk but not before the hen was hammered. What’s her point?

Military experience, is simply military experience and has very little to no bearing on how good of a president somebody would be.
As most vets can tell you, being a vet imparts you with no special wisdom beyond your MOS.
I completely agree. But if we are going to try to score points using military service, we should at least get it right.
