BREAKING @Vimeo has REMOVED Project Veritas saying: "You cannot upload videos that are hateful, defamatory, or discriminatory."
Perhaps we embarrassed @Google but NOTHING we said was hateful, defamatory, or discriminatory. They're trying to erase us from the internet.

In a capitalist society, companies also do not get special gov protections, government venture capital money, etc. They also don’t have private meetings with government leaders and execute censorship policies on their behalf as a sheep dip to let the government feign innocence
They aren’t completely “private” it turns out.
Who would want to trust the GOVERNMENT - you know, the same people who bring your the DMV and the EPA and every other error-prone public sector operation - to get THIS right?
Private action always responds more quickly, is more vicious, and more efficient, than the courts. And with less bias.
Frankly the REAL problem isn't the lack of government intervention (because that ALWAYS works) but all the alleged conservatives who keep using these statist tools. Take a browser...Duck Duck Go and others provide great alternatives. No need for a VC firms to set up a competitor. If the 63 million Trump voters switched today, Google would lose their minds.
This is the first I’ve heard of Vimeo. Never heard of it.
I did, however, reister my opinion...
“I recently read an article describing how Vimeo Staff removed Project Veritas for posting a video of a Google Exec describing it’s practices concerning the upcoming 2020 Presidential election and their internal plans to moderate it.
The reason given being it violated Vimeo guidelines by being “hateful, defamatory and or discriminatory”.
I personally watched the entire video and observed nothing contained in it even remotely resembling any of those criteria.
Please explain.”
I no longer believe that for the case in which a company controls mass communications. I think communications needs to be regarded as a special case where private property cannot be used as a backdoor method for censoring significant amounts of public speech.
I think we need a special exception to "private property" when it deals with carrying public communications. Would we have ever allowed AT&T to censor people on the basis of their speech?
Same thing with internet communications.
Prove that it is- TAKE THEM TO COURT veritas!!!!
They may not be able to do that. A lot of these end user license agreements are basically legal contracts that says the company can do whatever the f*** it wants, and if you don't like it, too bad for you!
I wonder who gets to define “hateful”.
But we are in the real world of government involved capitalism where government regulations pervade the business and private worlds. So changing those regulations, and using the existing structures is vital to short term progress.
When we have the liberal government colluding with private businesses, and some of those businesses colluding among themselves for political reasons, your solutions are not practical.
Will you really be so eager to stick to your "keep government out" plan if you find yourself unable to open a bank account, or unable to use Paypal? And then you say, OK, I'll open a new kind of bank. But you can't, because you find a set of regulations limiting what you can do, and then you find you can't offer credit or debit cards either since the various companies involved in that won't do business with you. Oh, and you can't just decide to make a new kind of money either. So how does your plan work?
Any doubt Vimeo was told to get it’s mind right by Google?
They were right. They don't need to grow a pair, you need to grow a brain.
Dear Project Veritas,
Your account has been banned for posting video containing investigative journalism. This is against our standards policy.
All this whining and pissing and moaning about the media companies started by lefties and used for their benefit is frankly nauseating.
*************
They are more than just media companies. They are also acting as political advocates who provide substantial in kind benefits to the Democrat Party. There are regulations and laws that govern such things and they are clearly violating them.
last line...
“You remember that time we trusted Greta with the Code book?”
HAHAHAHA!
This has been the “liberal” way for some time now.
Since they can’t make arguments that make any sense, can’t argue from a position of facts, logic, and reason, they just shut any dissent down.
Luckily, Republicans in Congress are johnny on the spot in tackling these outrageous assaults on our liberty. Wait, never mind.
The way it works in a capitalist society is, if you dont like the products or services being offered by others, you start a company of your own and offer a better alternative.
All this whining and pissing and moaning about the media companies started by lefties and used for their benefit is frankly nauseating. Knock it off and grow a pair.
Dude. You have NO CLUE what you are talking about.
got you. So a company can monopolize and control political speech and conspire to control the information tens of millions receive about elections.
good stuff!
Thanks for your very explanatory post.
So, is the answer, then, for Congress to declare these tech companies as platforms? And, uphold them to censoring laws, like other platform companies are subject to?
and you can’t just decide to make a new kind of money either. _________________________
But FB _can_ make a new kind of money. So why can one *private company* create a crypto currency that will obviously give them even more control as a *private company*, but conservatives cannot?
A note on the takedown of the Verital video: I believe they are claiming that a hidden camera is deceptive.

Louis Gohmert posted it to his House page.
Some Republicans are doing something.
