A day after she announced that the city of Chicago would not cooperate with planned deportation raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, Mayor Lori Lightfoot is doubling down on her opposition to President Donald Trump’s policies.
The mayor, speaking to a gathering of immigration activists and concerned residents in the city’s Uptown neighborhood Saturday, had two words for the president.
“Back off,” she said to applause from the gathered crowd.

It's common for especially Soros backed city DA's and mayors to pick and choose the laws they want to enforce. It's a type of "nullification" and we all should be angry about it. As for immigrations, Trump admits the system is broken, but her party will not help fix it, so we play the cards were dealt with the crisis at the border due to Dem neglect and obstinance.
She’d be down there on the border with a gun if the illegals flooding across were white people from Europe.

What’s funny is the illegals are coming to take HER people’s jobs - why hire angry, entitled black people to do the no fun jobs when you can get a desperate, hard working Mexican to do it? Who won’t complain, and shows up on time.

Unfortunately, they don't just "tell us" which laws they'll abide by: They actually ignore laws they don't like. This hasn't changed in 2.5 years, so we see how much power these people have, despite the best efforts of our president.
Look at this way..Given when a criminal indictment is filed, it is the People of .... v Julio from Venezuela. So if the mayor of some podunk town interferes with that process aren’t they in turn denying me of my right to due process as I am a member of the “People”. Because due process is not just a one way street. Or...am I just plain ignorant .
I’m getting damned tired of fellow conservatives telling me:
1) State and local governments have no power anymore and just bow to federal authorities and blindly do whatever their told.
2) We’re “in danger” of becoming a “pure democracy” of “mob rule” where the government does whatever the majority wants, regardless of what is best is for the nation.
The way Leftists behave whenever there is a GOP president proves both these arguments are false.
I have no reason to go to Chitcago in the foreseeable future.
Time will tell, if this new woman mayor of Chicago, turns out to be a lightweight in dealing with the serious problems Chicago is facing.
Ongoing gang violence, declining population, businesses moving out, severe financial problems, horrible public schools, among others. Can she cope?
Why did Rahm decline to run for re-election? Did he perceive that Chicago is getting to a SHTF moment, and didn’t want to be around to get the blame???? Just wondering why a career politician would give up what was allegedly a dream job for him????
