Abstract: Over the past decades, detailed surveys of the Pacific Ocean atoll islands show no sign of drowning because of accelerated sea-level rise. Data reveal that no atoll lost land area, 88.6% of islands were either stable or increased in area, and only 11.4% of islands contracted. The Pacific Atolls are not being inundated because the sea level is rising much less than was thought. The average relative rate of rise and acceleration of the 29 long-term-trend (LTT) tide gauges of Japan, Oceania and West Coast of North America, are both negative, −0.02139 mm yr−1 and −0.00007 mm yr−2 respectively. Since the start of the 1900s, the sea levels of the Pacific Ocean have been remarkably stable.

Yes...
Beyond tides, you have many other sources of error to correct, including not just local atmospheric pressure, but atmospheric pressure in adjacent areas for hundreds’s or even thousands of miles (A difference of 1 millibar can cause a difference in height of 1 centimeter!), storms, wind waves, wind direction, river outflows, currents, ground subsidation, etc. And of course, many of these things were not known or recorded in historical readings! But the real trick is getting your model to produce the result you are being paid to produce...
Shhhh dont confuse them with facts
good post. thx.
Claim That Sea Level Is Rising Is a Total Fraud
Sea levels began to rise 18k years ago at the end of the last glacial period. They have risen about 135 meters since then which is an average of 7.5 millimeters per year. That is an average of 750 mm per century (29.5 inches) which is far more than the average over the last century.
From 1880 to 2000 sea level rose about 20 cm or just under 8 inches. Far less than the nearly 30 inches per century average over the last 18,000 years.
The most recent data from NASA shows a decline in sea level.
Inconvenient: NASA shows global sea level pausing, instead of rising
The information makes sense but what university is this? I looked up the URL and it says it belongs to a acupuncture and oriental medicine school?
amu.edu.pl is Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland.
Sea levels have been rising continuously since the end of the last ice age. This is nothing new.It is also not something to get freaked out about, because there is not a damned thing that can be done about it short of a new ice age, which we do NOT want. You can’t grow wheat on top of a mile of ice.

“The relative sea level trend is 1.49 millimeters/year with a 95% confidence
interval of +/- 0.21 mm/yr based on monthly mean sea level data from
1905 to 2018 which is equivalent to a change of 0.49 feet in 100 years.”
The official hysteria, now embodied in our laws, is that sea level is going to rise three feet by 2060.
We have missed a bet by not taking some atolls that are territories of the US, and systematically enlarging them and turning them into man made islands surrounded by large reefs.
We might turn some into semi-commercial aquaculture farms, to raise either or both food fish and endangered fish for release.
Not without the Isthmus of Panama closed. The Pacific is about 9 inches higher than the Atlantic. But the western Pacific can vary by a couple feet depending on how hard the trade winds are blowing.
Oh, did not see the .pl domain earlier. Thanks!
That's all true. Part of the sea level rise is from ground water depletion.
I would just note that the satellite measurement (3.4 mm) is adjusted for ocean basin expansion. The actual rise is about 3 mm but they say “it would be 3.4” if the ocean basins weren’t expanding and able to hold more water. But the actual recent rise is 3mm or less.
As you rightly point to, there are an incredible amount of variables to take into consideration when calculating sea level and any change to it up or down. The link at the top of my post has a brief but very detailed description of those variables and the considerable effort and precision that must be taken into account for them all. The author is a leading expert on the matter.
Most of North America is undergoing the same thing. Has been since the end of the last ice age.
