Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump · 1h Replying to @realDonaldTrump ....Death to America. I terminated deal, which was not even ratified by Congress, and imposed strong sanctions. They are a much weakened nation today than at the beginning of my Presidency, when they were causing major problems throughout the Middle East. Now they are Bust!....
Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump ....On Monday they shot down an unmanned drone flying in International Waters. We were cocked & loaded to retaliate last night on 3 different sights when I asked, how many will die. 150 people, sir, was the answer from a General. 10 minutes before the strike I stopped it, not....

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump Replying to @realDonaldTrump ....proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone. I am in no hurry, our Military is rebuilt, new, and ready to go, by far the best in the world. Sanctions are biting & more added last night. Iran can NEVER have Nuclear Weapons, not against the USA, and not against the WORLD!

Stable. Genius.
And hung like a centaur.
Sounds wise, but you risk death by a thousand cuts.
A “win” for Trump. He may never even have truly intended to retaliate in this manner, but by publicly halting such action provides a nice optic of patience and consideration to win allies, perhaps in UN support against Iran.
I do not agree with the Donald on that one. But, it depends where the strikes, or the targets were.
I don’t have a problem with eliminating 150 Iranians in a first strike, what comes after that does.
Better than the decision he made last year to launch missile strikes on Syria, based on the gas report provided by the white helmets.
mohammedums only respect force, power, and aggression. They are laughing at us for being so weak and pathetic.
I would sink every Iranian flagged vessel on the high seas and in Iranian territorial waters with extreme prejudice.
Proportionate my ass.
I am completely fine with that perspective, President Trump.
Go TRUMP!
all a façade to distract Trump from the real war on the border.
I’m so proud of President Trump.
Striking Iran would have likely resulted in Iran striking Israel, and then, a full-scale war in the Middle East. And a full-scale war in the Middle East is not worth an unmanned drone, I don’t care how much it cost.
The important message here is to the Iranian people, we care more about you than your mullahs do. . .think about it.
Well, lets see.., a retaliatory strike is the norm, but that was canceled. And as Trump doesnt yield to confrontation, Im confident the Iranian provocation/attack wont go unpunished.
Im also glad to see Trump oppose an obviously hawkish desire for revenge a factor of his 2016 campaign (but which emphasized unnecessary troop deployments.) Now Trump has everyone guessing.
Go covert.
I would like to see someone held to account for putting our $250 million drone in a place where it was likely and reasonable for someone to shoot it down.
Which could kill 150 ppl
He should have just first targeted the site from where the rocket was fired
And asked how many would be killed at that target.
If people got killed because they were hanging our where a rocket was fired that brought a USA plane down, too bad if the perps get killed IMO
If it's their governing body who keep threatening us with total destruction, once they get their nukes online, I say go for it.
Otherwise, let's capture or sink Iran's empty oil tankers, one at a time, for each friendly tanker damaged and one extra for our downed drone there for this reason. If nothing else, it'll be a strong incentive for Iran not to offload them.
Question: If we were to 1. Change the name to Barack Obama and 2. Change the date to (say) Jun 21 2016. How many people here would be supporting what the President did? I suspect the attitude would be just a little different.
Also how has this been seen in Tehran? Because their view is the only one that matters. Now I (obviously) don't know what their thinking is, but I suspect it goes something like...We Attacked Them, And They Did Nothing....Again.
If the straights of hormuz gets blocked China and the far east will be hurt more than we'll be hurt. Let's sit back and wait to see who gives a damn - who will step up and offer help - before we rush in alone paying the full price with our lives and treasure.
