A U.S. high-altitude drone was shot down Thursday by an Iranian surface-to-air missile over the Strait of Hormuz amid heightened tensions in the region after last weeks attacks on two oil tankers, a source told Fox News.
A commander for Iran's Revolutionary Guard said the shooting sends `a clear message' to the U.S. He said while Iran has no intention of war with anyone, it's "ready for war."... (MQ-4C drone).

How so?
Old news?
Has the MSM mentioned that the Strait of Hormuz is NOT international waters?
annoo annoyyy annnoooo annoying. ing. ing. ing.
“He said while Iran has no intention of war with anyone, it’s ‘ready for war.’”
And yet they just committed an act of war. I suppose we can pretend it’s not war, if only one side participates in it.
??? Story broke at about 10pm PDT on 6/19. Not the drone story from Sunday (tanker related), and not the drone Iran shot down in 2011.

Is there a treaty or agreement covering the strait? Iran claims 12nm territorial waters for some areas:
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ir.html
Iran doesnt have to claim that. Im pretty sure territorial waters are defined as that 12-mile limit under international law. The Strait of Hormuz is only 21 miles wide, so it falls within the territorial waters of Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
Arent they kind of on the same side?
OK, thanks for the info...guess it is more of an airspace issue rather than a surface ship/territorial waters issue.
I’m willing to bet that the intelligence gathered during that shoot down is worth more than the drone. We might wind up doing it again, this time with a Reaper on station.
The MQ-4C Triton drone shot down was worth about $180 million dollars including R&D, Northrop Grumman made a fortune on that project.
At least two posters, myself included, answered this same question from you days ago. Are you having a senior moment or just ignoring that the passage between two bodies of international water must be allowed free transit by international law?
Shut your hole... God you're a moron.
Said the anus-for-a-mouth who actually, on these pages, accused ME and others of actually being Russian when you were losing an argument...and was serious.
Hands down the biggest douche I've in my 21 years on FR.
