WARNING: Graphic quotes throughout about the Central Park rape case.
Last week, we reviewed the evidence of innocence of the "Central Park 5" presented in the court of Hollywood. This week, well review the evidence of their guilt -- presented in courts of law and ruled on by actual judges and juries.
The five accused rapists -- Kevin Richardson, Antron McCray, Raymond Santana, Yusef Salaam and Kharey Wise -- were duly convicted of the 1989 Central Park rape, as well as other assaults in the park that night; exonerated 13 years later; and, more than a decade after that, paid $40 million by the city of New York to settle a malicious prosecution case within months of Bill de Blasio becoming mayor, despite city lawyers confidence that they would win at trial.
To his credit, Mayor Michael Bloomberg refused to give the "exonerated" convicts a dime

There is a whole segment of the population that is living in a fantasy world created by corrupt Hollywood.
When the last dime of the New Yorker taxpayer’s money is gone, you will heard about these ‘Wildings” Just who will be their victims is unknown....
Indeed.
Ann Coulter has lost a lot of fans because of her weird passion for Romney, and maniacal wall-rage.
But she is still a brilliant and provocative commentator.
I remember when CBS did a made-for-TV movie on child serial killer Wayne Williams in which they left open the possibility he was just a poor innocent black man railroaded by “whitey”.
But when he was arrested, the child murders stopped.
Never get your history lessons from Hollywood!
It probably shouldn’t surprise anyone that Hollywood tends to downplay rape, murder, pedophilia and the like.
They put pictures of Reagan on the walls for their Wayne Williams defense picture. It was grotesque, but so CBS.
When she ain’t playin with her balls
Glad. Etflox is going the way of Blckbusters once Disney streaming comes on. They won’t have any content to stream since Disney owns the monopoly on entertainment
Also, Yusef Salaam claims the confessions were coerced by denying food, water, sleep, bathroom privileges and beatings. The problem with this claim is the tapes. Nobody looks beaten or sleep deprived. The tapes were made approximately 30 hours after initial arrests and there are no marks, black eyes, broken noses, puffed faces etc.
Further, there was a re-investigation of the case by Police Commissioner Ray Kelly after Metias Reyes confessed to the rape in 2002. This investigation was headed up by Michael Armstrong, former lead counsel on the Knapp Commission that investigated the Serpico allegations of corruption in the NYPD during the late 1960s. Also on this commission was Jules Martin, attorney and Vice President of NYU. The Armstrong report found no police misconduct and the confessions were voluntary.
And even though DA Robert Morgenthou and Deputy DA Nancy Ryan were instrumental in vacating the convictions in 2002 they also found no police or prosecutorial misconduct.
It is a travesty to reward the criminals with $44.9 million (41 from NY City plus 3.9 from NY State) for violent crimes and then make them civil rights heroes.
Ann is right on the money here. Kudos to her.
Central Park jogger case
None of the suspects' DNA matched the DNA from two semen samples found on and close to the victim, which both belonged to the same unidentified man, a fact stated by an FBI witness in the first of the two trials. There was no substantive physical evidence connecting the five teenagers to the rape scene
In 2001, Matias Reyes, a convicted murderer and serial rapist who was serving life in prison, confessed to officials that he had raped the female jogger. His DNA matched the two samples found on and near the rape victim, and there was other confirmatory evidence. He said he committed the rape alone.
Agreed.
She exposes Roe v. Wade and Anti-McCarthyism in her books. That is something too few professing conservatives have done.
Black racists galore leaving racist comments all over YT, wanting her fired, in jail, and - what else? - DEAD, as is always their pathologically unbalanced wont.
The doctors who saved Trisha Mieli’s life said the claims of the suddenly newly confessing Matias Reyes did not match the injuries they treated.
You put quite a bit of faith in the word of a “convicted murderer and serial rapist”.
Wikipedia is as leftwing as you can get.
Why did District Attorney Morgenthau block the police investigators from questioning Reyes?
I didn’t put faith in anyone’s word. I do believe in DNA tests.
Wikipedia cites sources for all of its claims.
They already had the DNA evidence, and the statute of limitations had already expired.
