Women have outperformed their male counterparts in entrance examinations for a medical school in Japan that last year admitted rigging admission procedures to give men an unfair advantage.
Juntendo University in Tokyo said that of the 1,679 women who took its medical school entrance exam earlier this year, 139, or 8.28%, had passed. The pass rate among 2,202 male candidates was 7.72%.
It was the first time in seven years that the pass rate among women was higher than among men, the Asahi Shimbun reported.
The university attributed the exam results to its decision to abolish the unfair treatment of female applicants after last years revelations...

Okay, so they took out math..?
If you ask a candidate to stand on the edge of the bathtub and pee in the toilet, then that is unfair to women.
Jutendo?
I’ve never even heard of it.
Yes, it exists, but, uh...this study smells like a simple way to get their name picked up by the credulous, PC foreign media and get circulated.
Feminism and diversity don’t generally play well in Japan but the foreign media LOOOVE this type of story, they absolutely LAP IT UP.
“manipulated exam results to give first-time male applicants an advantage over women and others who had previously failed the exam”.’
For “stops”, read “starts”.
I wonder what would happen in the US if schools/police & fire depts started doing the same thing...
They don’t make the candidates present their key ring to gain entry to the exam room.

From an older article in the Guardian:
“The investigation found that in this years entrance exams the school reduced all applicants first-stage test scores by 20% and then added at least 20 points for male applicants, except those who had previously failed the test at least four times. It said similar manipulations had occurred for years because the school wanted fewer female doctors, since it anticipated they would shorten or halt their careers after having children.”
Still think this is a laughing matter?
In the 90’s I visited a Japanese machine tool manufacturer to doe some test cuts on a research machine in their main factory. One of the first things I noticed was that the only women worked in clean room assembly and as secretaries. It was like the 1960’s in the factories with bathing suit or less pictures on the toolboxes and the floor workers leering and obviously commenting at any woman who walked by. The secretaries seemed surprised when I thanked them for the Coke or tea they brought me. I thought, boys, you are in for a surprise in the future.
In general, with wide variation at the individual level, women’s brains are 10% smaller than men’s, and they score 5% less on cognitive tests. That is reflected in traditional medical school entrance exams. The only way to have women on average score higher is to rig the exam, or handicap the boys for many years in the government schools.
Knew this would turn into a woman-bash fest.
Realize that while in some ways the Japs are very smart and good, they also have been traditionally extremely racist and sexist in general. You white American men might not appreciate that being subject to the commie PC police here, but it is true.
I’ll bet that those schools have students that are over-represented by Asians.
Just how much math is required for a biology-based career?
In my tutoring Im not aware of much besides calculus I, which is pretty good but not excessive.
Japs, to be specific. They dont take to kindly to any outsiders, including other orientals.
so 169 men passed.
“Feminism and diversity dont generally play well in Japan but the foreign media LOOOVE this type of story, they absolutely LAP IT UP.”
Yep! I like the term that Rush used in a similar situation regarding black quarterbacks, (Donovan McNabb) “The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. ..”
In this case the media and the leftists (I know, I repeat myself) are extremely “desirous”, even orgasmic, to prove that women are just as good as men, maybe even better!
Tests are rigged for as long as males outperform females.
The Guardian is an agenda-driven rag.
In the US they started rigging entrance exams for med school in 1970 when “not enough” women made the grade.
