ete Buttigieg told "Axios on HBO" that although he wasn't diagnosed with PTSD after returning from Afghanistan after a 7-month deployment in 2014, "there's a level of depression ... that I went through when I came back."
Why it matters: This is a new window into Buttigieg's unusual experience of serving as a 32-year-old, then returning to resume his job as mayor of South Bend, Indiana.......
Buttigieg told me the feeling lasted about a year, and that he never felt he needed medical treatment.

Seven months without literally getting the shaft, as opposed to the figurative shafting common to military service, probably did put the poor thing into a deep depression.

As a JAG officer? How many line officers and those serving at the combat arms battalion level have returned without any problems. Reagan had it right with his ‘We ask, Don’t join” policy.

From what I’ve heard, his duties in Afghanistan were serving as driver for a general moving around the base...
Someone posted a picture of him wearing brand new Combat Uniform and empty magazine pouches...

OK...Just looked it up:
While deployed, he was assigned to the Afghan Threat Finance Cell, a counterterrorism unit that targeted Taliban insurgency financing.
Looks like he was an accountant....

If he was a JAG, he probably never understood the difference between a rifle and a gun, so he had fun with his gun...old joke//

He is trying to check off another victim box. It’s the Democrat way.

What did this man actually do in Afghanistan? I have seen a half dozen different descriptions of his duties he performed. Inquiring minds want to know.
