Hugo Chavez was one of the most evil socialist dictators ever. He took the richest country in Latin America, Venezuela, and turned it into a disaster of misery and poverty in only five years. How bad? The people had no food or toilet paper. And critics of Chavez were tortured and murdered. Isn't socialism wonderful?
But it gets worse. Just like Fidel Castro, Chavez got filthy rich based on the misery of his own people. His family made billions. Then this evil dictator died of cancer. He turned the country over to his handpicked successor, Nicolas Maduro. Maduro ran the country the exact same way. Things are now worse. The people eat from garbage dumps and are forced to drink sewage water. In an oil-rich country, there is no gasoline for cars.
I am the ultimate passionate evangelist for capitalism. I preach the horrors of socialism and the greatness of capitalism 24/7 on my national TV and radio shows. I despise socialism. I believe Chavez and Maduro are pure evil. That's why it's strange to hear that, for once, I agree with something an evil socialist dictator said. Days ago, Maduro told NBC's Jorge Ramos that America has no right to criticize. He cited the poverty, misery and homelessness of American cities such as New York. He said, "New Yorkers have to eat garbage, too."
I agree. America's inner cities -- run 100% by Democrats -- are rotting cesspools of misery. They are third-world hellholes. Just look at New York, Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and San Francisco, to name a few. All run by Democrats for half a century or more. They aren't quite Venezuela -- yet. But they are headed there.
What Maduro missed is that those cities resemble Venezuela because their policies are socialist, just slightly milder than in Venezuela. And the leaders of those cities are socialists posing as "Democrats." In Chicago, they just elected a bunch of councilmembers who proudly call themselves socialist. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is a card-carrying socialist. And many of these inner-city Democrats are corrupt, just like Maduro. They appoint cronies and family members to government positions or award them multimillion-dollar government contracts. De Blasio's wife can't show where $850 million of federal taxpayer money went. That's Maduro-level corruption.
Thank goodness many Americans are waking up. That could be why in the latest poll of Iowa's Democrat voters, de Blasio got 0 votes -- not 0%. Nine Democrats got 0% in the poll. But de Blasio actually didn't get one vote.
This is the state of today's Democratic Party. Democrats are openly socialist, and if elected, they will turn us into corrupt, starving and bankrupt Venezuela.
Nevada is headed in the exact same direction under 100% Democratic leadership. They will ruin this state in five short years -- just like Chavez ruined Venezuela.
I just got back from New York. I'm a witness to what a cesspool of misery, poverty and homelessness New York City has become.
I always had the impression that the way New York worked was as you work your way “up” you get “access to elevators” and afterwards you just avoid the ground floor. Since visitors don’t have much “access to elevators” all they see is the same things the homeless see, so, of course New York looks like crap to a visitor.
Good article, but I think Root is engaging in wishful thinking when he says the people are waking up to the fraud, corruption, and socialism.
Are people eating dogs in American cities?
Are used dollars littering the street because they have no value?
Maduro is off by several degrees.
Meanwhile the War On Poverty was a disaster in part because we keep importing millions of low wage low skill low education minorities.

They can endlessly rage against poverty (even though they will bring more), corruption (even though they will bring more) and inequality (even though they will bring more) because they have a compliant media on their side who share the same goals to enrich themselves.
Even when the country is enjoying unprecedented prosperity and low unemployment, as they are now, the president who authored most of the policies who brought is vilified and marginalized. He should be enjoying approval ratings in the 70% range or more rather than hovering around 50%.
The socialists todays pied pipers promising candy canes and unicorns for all. Reprograming our youth by the mentally ill radical liberal progressives payed off. There is no debate, there is no new news about the failed socialists of the world time and time again, just the evil white privileged, racist, bigoted, white supremacists who want to steal from you and refuse to share with those who do not, will not and refuse to work for it. Their leaders always end up rich on the backs of their lemmings

However ..... I was pleasantly surprised to see the paltry turn-outs at those silly "Impeachment Protests" yesterday.
That’s a pretty good description. Also what happens is that in order to escape the squalor around them, many New Yorkers have tried to cozy up to the Democrat/Socialist party ruling class. To be an apparatchik means to be given perks allowing you to avoid (some of) the squalor.
I’m sad for Nevada. The people of the rural areas will have to suffer the policies of the urban circus show. Same thing that has happened to all of the western states. The Pioneer spirit and self reliance,history is under full assault. At some point like minded Americans have to rally and make the godless commie demons crawl back under the rocks where they came from.
Yeah New York probably doesn’t belong on this list of “hellholes” given the vast wealth that capitalism creates there, but good article otherwise.

He may be. I haven’t been polled, for example, and I find the internals of the ‘landslide for Joe’ polls to be laughable.

But yet even on this forum there are those (bigbob, bigdaddy45 come to mind) who would have us care for the well being of such scum as Chavez and Maduro on the principal that simple humanity should take precedence over politics.

In fairness, if you don’t have food, you really don’t need toilet paper.
But Wayne, progressives will “fix” all that you cite as evidence of the policies they promulgate.
They’ll fix it by their mainstream media not reporting on the facts to which you, and any of us who have seen such cities close up, can attest.
They’ll fix it by “fairness doctrine” being enforced so rigidly that ANYONE wanting to express a “conservative” viewpoint won’t be able to, allowed to, because “equal time” opportunities for progressives will simply be ignored. No opposing viewpoints offered, conservative voices will be effectively silenced.
They’ll force more of their viewpoint into state indoctrination campuses from pre-K to post-graduate. Anyone refusing to comply, or “join the Partei” will be denied entrance to those hallowed halls of higher education, grants, jobs, etc.
They will “fix” such “failures” of progressivism/socialism by denial, by disallowing representation of the results of their policies, and the Google/Twitter/Fakebook/Bing/deep state cabal will declare any such perspective as “hate speech” and deplatform anyone who wishes to argue otherwise.
No platform, no argument, internet control by ICANN (how was THAT legal under EX resident Bathhouse Barry Soetero Obeyme? Signing control of the internet over to a foreign agency?), we patriots, so-called “capitalists” (a term of disparagement forged by Marx-Engels in defining as a “belief” or “ism” what people do among themselves when free of state-control and left alone), the people of faith and values will be expunged, purged, all records of our photos and memes of democrat corruption, decaying cities run by democrat socialists, death camps run by national socialists (in all the countries they’ve run and are being run to this day). The US WOP defines poverty in such a way that by definition there will always be people in poverty. That’s why poverty in the US means having cell phones, TVs, free food, medical care, transportation, Internet access, housing, etc. Whereas poverty in India means competing for cow dung and picking landfills, no education, and sleeping in a cardboard lean-to.
Do not ever let a socialistlibdem set the definition of a word. There will s no true involuntary material goods poverty in the US. Spiritual and moral poverty is a different story.
Just think about all the grocery stores in the towns we live in. Shelves stocked with produce, bakery items, dairy, meats, fish, condiments etc... you name it. Living here anyone who clamors for rotgut socialism should be classified as mentally deranged. Surely there are some truly needy and impoverished people who need welfare but others have issues of moral character and lack of discipline. Able bodied ‘beggars’ are everywhere as a token of lower character ways to mooch $$ off productive citizens.

Wishful thinking. More and more of the younger generations believe in Socialism. How could they not, they are indoctrinated, from the moment they enter the public school system. Pretty sad.
