The US WOP defines poverty in such a way that by definition there will always be people in poverty. That’s why poverty in the US means having cell phones, TVs, free food, medical care, transportation, Internet access, housing, etc. Whereas poverty in India means competing for cow dung and picking landfills, no education, and sleeping in a cardboard lean-to.
Do not ever let a socialistlibdem set the definition of a word. There will s no true involuntary material goods poverty in the US. Spiritual and moral poverty is a different story.
