Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) tore into CNN’s David Axelrod for saying that his daughter, outgoing White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, will be remembered as a “habitual liar.”
Huckabee told Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum that he was “shocked and surprised” at the former top Obama campaign adviser’s comments before claiming that CNN “pay[s] people to hate President Trump.”
“I’m really shocked and surprised that he would go there to that degree. But again, he’s a CNN contributor. What is he gonna do?” Huckabee said. “That’s what they pay them to do, so I guess he earned his paycheck on that particular segment.”
Huckabee's remarks came after Axelrod slammed Sanders's legacy during an appearance on CNN, claiming that her time as press secretary will be remembered for “defending the indefensible, and not being truthful with the American people.”
“In this job, she was called upon to choose between her fidelity to Trump and her fidelity to the truth. And she chose Trump,” Axelrod said after Sanders announced her resignation. “Her legacy is one of defending the indefensible.”
Huckabee fired back shortly after, saying “people that don’t like Donald Trump don’t like my daughter.”
“And it’s not that they don’t like her, because most of them don’t even know her,” he said. “They just don’t like President Trump, and that’s unfortunate, because a lot of us do like him and we’re grateful for what he’s doing.”
Sanders announced her departure from the Trump White House late Thursday afternoon, marking the end of a rocky run as Trump’s top spokeswoman. Sanders, one of the longest-serving members in the Trump administration, often battled with the press corps and faced numerous accusations about her credibility.
Democrats: upset about all the stuff that never bothered them one jot when it was their bunch ... also the accusation alone is serious if the accused isn’t a Democrat.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders sure earned my respect.
She’s tough as nails and will make a great governor of Arkansas.
Alelrod? He is a smarmy scumbag.

Axelrod isn’t.
Sarah Sanders is a classy lady and has been one of the best in that position that I have ever seen. I have never seen her mis-speak. She has amazing ability to reply with to the point phrases, no beating around the bush. I love her! She is a wonderful roll model of a wife, daughter & woman.
I thought it was great when someone asked her how she was able to put up with the horrible press corps. She said something like, “I’m used to it. I have children at home.” LOL!
He advised someone who told MASSIVE lies to the American people.

And Republicans are always ‘shocked and surprised’ when a Democrat acts like a slimy Democrat. They still haven’t figured out ‘who’ they are.
The Rats expose themselves again. Right at the end of Outnumbered Friday, Jessica Tarlov blurted out, about Sanders, that “she lied.” That’s one of their (Juan uses it frequently) tricks: raise a point just before the cameras are turned off so nobody can ask for an example. I guess FNC believes it needs a Trump hater (actually, several of them) on board to be fair and balanced, like Mike H. said the other cable channels do.

Axelrod said it on CNN so nobody heard it unless they were waiting for their flight to Portlandia.
They all talk about lies that Trump or Sanders say, but no one ever asks for an example or proof of lying—never.
His daughter is a chip off the old block.
They are both great Americans.
The sniping, the ad hominem--or I suppose I should say ad femina--attacks, the accusations of lying and other indecencies, the cheap shots coming form the media mob and the rest of the Washington mob, all show how contemptuous of TRUTH the perpetrators are and how morally corrupt, mendacious, and indecent they are.
