I have not attacked anyone in an ad hominem way as crazy, hypocritial, or even wrong. I just re-read my posts to be sure I didn't write something that could be construed that way.

I do believe it is foolhardy to accept an explanation of a US Government plot as the gospel truth and completely disparage any suggestion the Iranians could be involved.

I hope you noticed that I said in the quote above "...It think it is wise to consider the possibility..." and I would stand by that, since our own government has given us reason to keep this open as a consideration.

I don't see anything "hypocritical" in this approach, at least nothing worthy of an unwarranted ad hominem attack.

thoughtomator, are you referencing the way it was presented in the linked Epoch Times article? Because that is presenting is as the Iranians attempting to remove evidence (whether that is fact or not)

The Epoch Times article didn’t seem to present the entire thing as a hoax, it was trying to suggest that the Iranians WERE involved, IMO.

The U.S. had been meddling in their politics long before the 1979 Iran revolution, and I've long said that we'd be better off simply leaving other countries alone. Trade with us on our terms, or don't trade with us at all. But there's no reason to engage in military conflicts in these Third World dumps just because prominent Saudi royal family members happen to be global real estate investment partners of the Bush family going back 40+ years.

The “it” I was referring to is the initial claim by Pompeo, which the bloodthirsty crowd of psychopaths I had thought this site had rid itself of after the Bush years latched onto to beat the drums of war.

Are you telling me that the mine didn’t explode? Or was not detonated on purpose for some diplomatic reason, with their crews removing it as a photo op? Go figure. Not sure if the Straights are too narrow to contain international waters and am wondering about the legality of the capture of the crew. Why is this not an act of piracy?
