I wonder what the USS Abraham Lincoln might do in short order to the Iranian navy. If I sneeze, would I miss it?

I have longer experience than that but I don’t think wars are good. The economy is even bigger and yes you make your point.

Bush 41 started to hurt the economy in his own way by breaking the “Read my lips” promise.

You cant let wars go on forever because of the fallout over casualties and the financial and or personal strain on a country’s people.

The stuff in Afghanistan and so on is a shared burden dragging on forever involving a coalition of nations.

Trump needs to focus on the economy to win and limit the military efforts.

Who gains from this (those that want war against Iran) and who loses (those that are trying to keep the peace)?

Follow the money!

Keep in mind we are 22 Trillion dollars in debt, and the country is sick of war. We have been in a perpetual state of war since World War II.

Passive diplomacy is what got us into every war, including WWI & WWII.

If you look at the past 100 years, most wars were started by 2nd term Democrats.

WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam....

Iran responsible for ‘blatant assault’ on oil tankers in Gulf of Oman, Mike Pompeo says

Lukas Mikelionis | Fox News
June 13, 2019

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has blamed Iran for the “blatant assault” on oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman earlier Thursday.

In a press conference Thursday afternoon, Pompeo said:

“This assessment is based on intelligence, the weapons used, the level of expertise needed to execute the operation, recent similar Iranian attacks on shipping, and the fact that no proxy group operating in the area has the resources and proficiency to act with such a high degree of sophistication.”

He charged that Iran is working to disrupt the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz and this is a deliberate part of a campaign to escalate tension, adding that the U.S. will defend its forces and interests in the region, although he did not elaborate.

His comments came shortly after a senior U.S. defense official told Fox News that the U.S. Navy saw an unexploded mine attached to the hull of the Panama-listed, Japanese-owned Kokuka Courageous ship, one of the two ships attacked.

It is the same type of mine used to damage four oil tankers last month in the same area - an attack senior Pentagon officials blamed on Iran. ...”

Can you read a map?

Do you know where Fujairah is? I'll give you a clue, it is a bottleneck.

Do you know where Ras Tanura is?

So in your Brawndo world, Saudi Arabia is going to shut down the majority of their energy production.

I'm sure Lloyds of Londen will be happy to keep insuring too. Is Lloyds also in on this great conspiracy of yours?

Brawndo destroys the brain. Just a piece of advice.

From the ease with which you swallow anything coming out of the US Intelligence/Military in the ME you obviously have a real good grasp of what destroys a brain and how much of it you have to take to be so gullible.

I suppose Oman and the Saudis don't have a single ship or person who can use scuba gear, right? As for the US, no way they could have any Seals in the area, not a chance.

Lloyds will keep ensuring as long as people keep bidding on the insurance issues and there are a Hell of a lot of Chinese and Japanese with the money to subscribe an issue even if the cost doubles. They're the ones who will bear the brunt of increasing costs.

Abe was in Iran when this happened, and it's the Iranians who are doing it. Yeah, right. I bet you paid a pretty penny for that bridge in Brooklyn you have the deed for.

Have a lovely day

Idiot. Learn some history. Who blew up our Marines in Beirut in 1983? Punks like you spit on their graves. Go to hell, but have a gay day.

This could be a false flag as the mines were set to do minimal damage and not sink the ship.

That is my view of this.

Lipett mines are normally placed below the water line to sink the vessel. These are clearly placed above the water line to a) not sink the ship and b) allow future pics and videos to be made like Iranians (wink, wink) removing an unexploded one and the hole in the side.

It just ain't washing......more lies from someone who wants us at war.

As if no one else could build or deploy a limit mine.

Provoking the US is a way to get massive quantities of Iranian hardware turned into scrap and to further damage their own economy.

Someone else is trying to provoke this fight.
