One of the less expected of Trumps accomplishment is exposing beyond debate that a sizeable number of Replubican pundits and politicians actively wanted to lose.

Ping! Everything Kurt says is spot on but just know, if we burn down the leftist monster in this country, it will be a war like no other. The leftists have plenty of useful idiot fodder to throw at us.

I agree with Kurt’s point, but I don’t know why he would list “silenced by liberal corporations” as part of the problem here. If his freedom is defined by his ability to post videos on YouTube, then he’s not a free man at all. In fact, he’s a slave to YouTube.

Today they are called never-Trumpers, yesterday they were called RINO’s. Before that just plain Republicans. I recall the early Bush years just waiting and waiting and waiting for push back and it never came. Republicans would promise one thing to get a vote, then do the opposite and we’d all scratch our heads and wonder why.

What Trump did was get the MSM and never-Trumpers/RINOs out in the open and make it very clear they are all un-Amerian traitors.

Like it or not, social media is the modern-day public square and conservatives are being deliberately, systematically barred from it. It isn’t a trivial issue.

Restricting people from using youtube and other platforms would not be a big deal if there were real competition, but there is not. These big social media corporations are effectively censoring the conservative voices that the government won’t censor.

I’m not a software expert, but it seems to me that a small bunch of smart people could write the code for a YouTube competitor over a long holiday weekend. If there is no competition for YouTube, then that’s really not their fault.

Kurt Schlichter comes across as a lazy malcontent on this particular point.

“These big social media corporations are effectively censoring the conservative voices that the government won’t censor.”

They’re doing it at the behest of more than just a few former Government “officials”. That’s what makes it so completely unacceptable. The difference between this and the Nazi government demanding that “private” businesses refuse service to Jews is only by degree.

If “they” thought they could get away with it they’d be herding Trump supporters into box cars at gun point.

And you know it.

Crowder, Jones, and the like are the canaries in the coal mines. And we damned well better be paying attention.

See Post #12. It doesn’t seem terribly conservative to be calling someone else’s property a “public square.”

There is more involved than writing code. There is the matter of acquiring a sufficient number of servers and bandwidth to support such an operation. I’ve read estimates that setting up a social media company would cost in the billion dollar range. This is not exactly within reach of most basement dwelling programming gurus. Meanwhile, the social media giants happily conduct the censorship that the government currently won’t do.

In addition to censoring conservative speech, they launch campaigns to de-person people. For example, they have successfully pressured banks and credit card companies into dropping the accounts of conservative organizations.

The goal of the left here is to use our principles of freedom to marginalize conservatives and make it impossible for conservatives to live as conservatives, until the left takes power. Then, they will use the tools leftist governments have always used to ensure their grasp on power.

We can’t afford to stand back and let them get to this point because they are using the tools of freedom against us.

I do know it. In fact, prior to the 2016 election, I saw more than one Hillary advocate posting on forums that they were really looking forward to herding us into camps. I have no doubt that Hillary would have done that—and that a distressingly high proportion of her supporters would have seen nothing wrong with sending non-leftists to reeducation camps.

Not even at the behest of government, but of their own accord — almost completely Lefist — deciding what voices will be allowed. Too many conservatives are trivializing the very real effect of this pernicious attack on free speech.

Heh. “Priss Platoon”, love it.

My personal favorite #NeverTrump line is, “He isn’t presidential.”

Followed by, “He needs to stop tweeting!”
