Mexican military begins arresting migrants riding 'The Beast' train to US border

Mexican military deployed throughout the country as part of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's vow to do more to apprehend migrants headed to the United States, have officially begun targeting foreigners who have hitched rides aboard a freight train known as "The Beast" to get to the U.S.-Mexico border, local media reported Sunday.

Mexican National Guard held up the "La Bestia" train in an unpopulated area near Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, a city north of the Mexico-Guatemala border, where migrants have been crossing into the country.

The operation marked the first of its kind since López Obrador and President Trump reached a deal late Friday, in which the U.S. would hold off on tariffs against Mexican imports if the government did more to prevent people from traveling through the country.

Excellent. It's a good start. Hope there is more to come.

Breitbart reported yesterday that hundreds of “migrants” from DRC (Congo), where there has been a recent outbreak of Ebola, have been dumped on the streets of San Antonio.

The purpose of my saying this is that Trump will stem the tide coming in, but what about all those like these, that are already here?

That is why it is important to send them back before they get to the US border.

I’m being reserved in my thoughts on this.

If it’s still happening months in, we’ve turned a corner.

It’s a start. It needs to be SUSTAINED AND SERIOUS. Otherwise, close the border, and when reopened, tariffs at 50%.

"Excellent. It's a good start. Hope there is more to come."

You're absolutely right.

from the article :
". . . vow to do more to apprehend migrants headed to the United States . . ."

Compared to what? Stopping one out of ten would be "doing more" compared to what they do now. One out of twenty? Thirty? Yes, it's a start but I, too, hope there's more to come.

... "The National Guard was placed on one side, moment that was taken advantage of by more than 200 migrants who got off the train and fled," Nataniel Hernández Núñe, director of the Digna Ochoa Human Rights Center, told El Universal.

Many "hid in the bush, so only 25 were arrested,"...

As much as I 100% support President Trump, right here is the problem. 200 lawbreakers and only 25 arrested.

If I am in Guatemala and thinking about sneaking into the US, I hear about this incident and think "there are 7 chances in 8 that I will make it.

And, it is difficult to convince me that the Mexican authorities did not know this would be the result. They station themselves on one side of the train and the people they are supposed to arrest go off the other side. Any kid over 5 years old knows that trick, but the Mexican National Guard is too stupid to realize it.

I do not believe it for a second. They did not want to take them all into custody, pure and simple. DJT needs to read this news and impose tariffs. This will encourage them to do their jobs more diligently.

Hang a piece of 6” pipe a foot over top of the train.
That’ll sweep them off

They wouldn’t see a nice, thin wire coming.

I wonder who the h@ll is funding the Africans into Guatemala?

Seems like the US could do something about that rail line.

What Yahoo and CNN and the alphabetical swill mills won’t report on is this; Mexican Senator says Mexico should take back states;
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-mews/3754791/posts

In the hundreds of postings here in Free Republic rarely is this brought up. It’s Known As Reciprocity. We should be treating anybody illegally crossing the Mexican border into the US the way the Mexican’s do Any American illegally .crossing into Mexico. No” free” lawyer paid by Mexican taxpayers. Entry denied heavy fine and possible imprisonment. before getting kicked out.

When allowing the hordes illegally entering the US through the Mexican border avoids recognizing and dealing with the 2nd class treatment that American citizens get which is in their constitition while legally residing in Mexico. That not just includes denial of voting privileges but employment, and land ownership in their name.

Worse yet All when given to illegals and property ownership by them is used in states which Mexico has previously claimed espcially Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado and of course California .that could be used to support any reclaiming effort should regime changes in Mexico arise , Our border with Mexico has always been contentious not only with smugglers but on ocassion with Mexican bandits and military.,Allowing potential hostiles to the US property ownership to happen in those states could lead to serious problems in the future.

.It’s time we consider illegal entry by any person who is a non Mexican citizen illegally entering the United States through the US Mexican border a defacto Mexican citizen with limited Mexican constitutional rights subject to their laws while transiting. As well as any Mexican citizen entering illegally exempting those who do so legally and meet US citizenship requirements.

What never gets mentioned is that 2nd class treatment Americans get in Mexico in all of this. If we applied that reciprocal policy . Would that continue ? By.prohibiting and strictly enforcing existing laws prohibiting any illegal entrant employment, voting, and land ownership privileges fully enforced these problems would drop loke a rock. .In other words Once we remove the incentives to Sneak into this country before expulsion no job no voting no landowning this stuff would stop.

Time to create new Tee Shirt for sale.

I tried to cross the Rio to go to the USA, but was caught in Mexico and thrown in Mexico prison for illegal entry.

The purpose of the rail line is to transport goods not people.
However people ride on top of the box cars, etc. If you shut
the rail line down you’ll for sure have problems with a major
disruption on the economies. JMO.
