Fifty years after patrons at the Stonewall Inn refused to be silent and sparked a civil rights movement for gay Americans, Pride events are a familiar tradition in many states. Parades, teach-ins and panel discussions throughout June affirm the dignity of people who have been historically marginalized and continue to face discrimination.
While religious leaders take part in LGBT Pride Month celebrations, a Catholic bishop’s tweet this week provoked contentious social media debates about whether faithful Catholics should attend such events, given the church’s opposition to same-sex marriage and teachings about homosexuality.

The progression was from allowing this aberration to exist, to equal status with the unabhorrently ordered, to the demand that now Catholics applaud and approve a form of Pride that centers on abhorrent genital copulation explicitly proscribed throughout mankind’s history.
From out-of-the-closet has come a torrent of degradation masked as “Pride” in one’s copulatory status. Innocence and the children are the final target of these predators.
A Catholic who participates in a Pride Parade is much like Aaron forging the Golden Calf.

We should allow REPENTANT sinners in, since no one is without sin. We have no business accepting anyone in the church who refuses to repent of their sin. There is a difference between struggling with temptation and falling sometimes, and rejoicing in one’s sin.

The outright deceit in reporting on faggotry is disgusting.
Notice the title says “Catholics” not “Christians”.

It is only a small percentage of Catholic clergy who are Gay/pederasts. It only seems magnifies because during the last century gays entered the seminaries and eventually some of them became bishops. Once inside the higher echelons of the church they magnified their influence and were able to not only appoint more gay priests to positions of authority and also to ignore complaints against their buddies.
I jusg want to point out that the true number of gay priests is down around 2% or so.

The only part I would change would be to expand Catholic to include all Christians and religious Jews. It is the biggest part of our shared heritage.
Not necessary. Just find a conservative Catholic parish. They’re out there.

Umm, did this “journalist” forget that pride is one of the seven deadly sins?
I think it means “legbutt” like people who have butts that hang down where their legs should be.
It’s not about people and their rights. . .that’s the ruse. . .it is simply about a BEHAVIOR that is detrimental to society . . .and, btw, also detrimental to those engaged in the behavior. It is about FORCING society to accept and approve of such behavior regardless of one’s moral, religious principles and the hard facts that deem such behavior as destructive to a civil society.
I've had quite some experience with American Jesuits, particularly in higher education. From that, I would estimate that at least 25% are homosexuals. Of course, this is not a scientific survey, just my own observations. I know Jesuits are not typical Catholic clergy also.

I’m not exactly a practicing Catholic. But I am a practicing heterosexual. No way I’m going to join a pride parade. Pride in what? Their deviant sexual practices? And any heteros who do mistakenly join these parades - watch your back!
