The case for why Catholics should march in LGBT Pride parades
Washington Post ^ | June 6, 2019 | John Gehring

Posted on 06/07/2019 6:12:28 AM PDT by C19fan

Fifty years after patrons at the Stonewall Inn refused to be silent and sparked a civil rights movement for gay Americans, Pride events are a familiar tradition in many states. Parades, teach-ins and panel discussions throughout June affirm the dignity of people who have been historically marginalized and continue to face discrimination.

While religious leaders take part in LGBT Pride Month celebrations, a Catholic bishop’s tweet this week provoked contentious social media debates about whether faithful Catholics should attend such events, given the church’s opposition to same-sex marriage and teachings about homosexuality.

Mr. Gehring should join the Episcopalian Church. I unfortunately have caught glimpses of these marches and they celebrate every known perversity.

We’re letting them in to our churches...might as well get used to it.

What are they proud of?

Not knowing the difference between an exit and entrance orifice?

Spreading a potentially fatal STD?

We let alcoholics and drug addicts into our churches, too. That doesn't mean they should march in substance abuse parades.

“dignity of people who have been historically marginalized”. Has this author even seen one of the parades? Dignity is the last thing on display.

Bottom line: Arguing with this perverse lunatic is useless. Simply keep John Gehring far away from any young boys. Any parent that brings their child to that vile “parade” ought to lose custody.

Except that there is a God, and He considers homosexuality and other forms of sexual depravity to be a sin.

Catholics can NOT endorse immoral behavior.

Most homosexuals were sexually molested as children.

They seek to normalize their behavior to achieve easier access to MOLEST YOUR CHILDREN!

On page 37, the other relevant result relates to men.

The 13th research question addressed, of homosexual men who have been molested, what percentage were molested before self-identification as homosexual men, and what percentage were molested after self-identification as homosexual? Of homosexual men who were molested, 68% were molested before self-identification as homosexual, and 32% were molested after self-identification as homosexual.

No. We must fight this tooth and nail. I was very easygoing about the thing…agreed people shouldn’t get beat up or worse over this perversion as long as it didn’t involve children. But now they want to make it normal. It is NOT NORMAL.

Mr. Gehring is providing additional reason for the disassembly of the American Catholic Church.

You have hit on something, Dr. S: It is ironic that they call it “Pride” because beyond all of the perversities and degeneracies they celebrate, the root sin, the difference between a homosexual and a degenerate alcoholic or drug addict or gambler is the latter KNOW what THEY are but these sexual degenerates are actually proud of their sin and won’t even admit that it’s a sin, and THAT is why God is going to send many many of them to eternity in hell.

Standing before God and saying “I’m sorry, I couldn’t help it” is a hell of a lot more likely to get you clemency than “SCREW YOU HOW DARE YOU CRITICIZE ME!!!!!”

Just the opposite. The Catholic Church is not changing in this regard.

Some sinners in the Church are putting themselves into serious eternal danger.

There was wisdom behind why perverts were historically marginalized and faced discrimination.

Just judge what they’ve done in society since. It would never be about wanting to be left alone because it involved for many homosexuals the demand to emotionally feel accepted. But that couldn’t happen if people still valued and retained institutions that didn’t accommodate homosexuals acting out homosexuals..

That includes the church.

Yes, there were homosexuals who just wanted to be left alone ... but they weren’t the movers of the subculture and would never be.

How many NYC pride parades was I a sad witness to? I even got caught in one in Paris!

No Catholic should be caught dead in these disgusting, horrible events.

I don’t know whether it is naivete or evil that one would promote this.

What are they proud of?

Indeed. Pride is one of the seven deadly sins for a reason. In my opinion, Christians should only attend "pride" parades to get an idea of how depraved these people really are. In the meantime...

Fifty years after patrons at the Stonewall Inn refused to be silent and sparked a civil rights movement for gay Americans, Pride events are a familiar tradition in many states.

It is nonsensical to claim that an incident at the Stonewall Inn has anything to do with civil rights.

It is also nonsense to say that Pride events are a familiar tradition.

The Washington Post is wrong again; how can they stay in business?

It's evil. These people are possessed.

>>>We’re letting them in to our churches...might as well get used to it.<<<

Or go to a local New Testament Bible-believing, Bible-preaching church where traditions are replaced by solid doctrinal truth.
