Family of convicted Somali Muslim killer cop of unarmed woman, Justine Damond, condemns ‘racist and inequitable’ US justice system

Speaking for the first time at a small rally attended by members of the Somali community in Minnesota, Abaas Noor, brother of killer cop Mohamed Noor, said there was a double standard working against his brother due to his religion and race.

(Actually, it was because of his religion and race that Noor got fast-tracked into a job for which he clearly was unsuited. We know this because the former mayor, police chief, and media all boasted about his Somali Muslim heritage which added “diversity” to the police force) Noor, 33, faces a maximum 12.5-year prison sentence when he stands before Judge Kathryn Quantance in Minneapolis tomorrow after a jury convicted him in April of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

He said he remained in awe of his parents’ resilience in light of such unequal treatment of their son by a “racist and inequitable justice system.”

“My brother, my siblings and I were raised by two devout Muslims who instilled a passion for social service,” he told the rally. “We know full well the sanctity of life. Mohamed knows and believes the sanctity of life.” (Just not the sanctity of non-Muslim life)

“It is clear there is a double standard working against my brother. “It is a shame this will be his legacy.” He also said brother is a scapegoat for a system that is unwilling to change.

Mohamed Noor had a checkered record as a police officer. In two years as a police officer, Noor had three formal complaints against him, two of which, as of September 2017, were pending resolution. In a separate case from May 2017, he is being sued for allegedly assaulting a woman.

Following the deadly shooting, the Star Tribune reported Noor’s police training had been “fast-tracked”; some suburban police departments see the cadet programs as a way to add diversity to their police forces. Noor’s police training had been part of the cadet program for the Minneapolis Police Department, an accelerated seven-month program aimed at candidates who already have a college degree and wish to enter law enforcement.

In September 2018, it was revealed that in 2015 two psychiatrists and other training officers had raised questions about Noor’s fitness for police duty.

Noor, 33, faces a maximum 12.5-year prison sentence when he stands before Judge Kathryn Quantance in Minneapolis on Friday after a jury convicted him in April of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

Noor suggests in a pre-sentence filing to the judge he turn himself in to a low-security correctional facility workhouse for a week on the date of Ms Damond’s death and the date of Ms Damond’s birth for the duration of his probation.

“This sentence honours the memory of Ms Damond and allows Mr Noor to continue to serve the city,” Noor’s lawyers, Thomas Plunkett and Peter Wold, wrote in their memorandum to the judge. (So he can go out and kill another innocent woman?)

“Just as importantly, it mandates that Mr Noor will continue to consider his action and the great loss they caused.” (HAH!) If Judge Quantance does not agree Noor suggests he be sentenced to a prison term of one year and one day. (Make him serve the maximum and then deport him to Somalia)

THE L/E COVER-UP BEGINS: The officer then directs killer Noor to 'just keep to yourself, keep your mouth shut til you have to say anything to anybody'.

REALITY CHECK The murdered girl’s fiancé Don Damond criticized the Minneapolis Police Dept. The cops flaunt the feel-good message. “To protect with courage and to serve with compassion."

DON DAMOND: “Where were these values that night? She called them because she needed them to protect her with courage and serve with compassion, but that night there was a tragic lapse of care and complete disregard for the sanctity of human life.”

Plainly, as the tapes show, L/E concern was for the killer.

Janine’s grief-stricken father was turned away initially. The Minneapolis Police Dept L/E cabal gave him no help.

He was forced to pursue the case when it became clear the Somali cop was being shielded from prosecution by the cop cabal.

The grief-stricken father commented: ”We believe Noor's guilty verdict was reached despite the active resistance of a number of Minneapolis police officers - including the head of their union - and (despite) either the active resistance or gross incompetence of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension,” he said. “Particularly at the beginning of this investigation.”

A lot of eyes on this case. The judge will have to dig deep to justify straying from the presumptive sentencing.

"Noor’s sentencing is set for Friday, June 7. According to the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines, Noor’s presumptive sentence will be between 10.5 and 15 years in prison. If Judge Quaintance goes below that, she will have to lay out her reasoning, because it would be a departure from the guidelines.

The defense sought to introduce evidence of the effects of “trauma” on the perception of Officers Harrity and Noor. She demanded that such testimony be based on psychological expertise, for example, and kept excluding it as the defense tried to work around her ruling. She is an excellent trial judge.

Have to give credit to perhaps the biggest ingrates in the world; Somali migrants. They sure learned quickly to throw out terms like “racist”.

Meanwhile, 4 officers in Los Angeles County still have yet to face a single charge when they opened fire in a suburban neighborhood, confused that two small Hispanic women in a different type and color of truck might be a large black former LAPD officer that might have been doing a drive by of a house they were protecting.

More than 140 shots hit the truck, thankfully with no severe injuries to the two women inside, nor anyone in the neighborhood for the other 97 shots that hit homes where people were sleeping.

When things like that can be swept under the rug as a ‘justified shooting’, then yes, I'll agree with the family that it is indeed possible that his race and religion played a part in this officer being prosecuted.

Oh, and another 83 shots were fired at another truck during that manhunt (least similar color/model that time) driven by a white guy by three officers. Again, thankfully no one was hurt seriously, but again, it was also called a justified shooting.
