President Donald Trump delivered a moving address during the 75th-anniversary commemoration of D-Day in Normandy, France, on Thursday.

The president took the stage shortly after French President Emmanuel Macron and addressed the crowd, which included 60 American veterans who were present on D-Day when the American forces stormed the beaches of Normandy. “You are the pride of our nation, you are the glory of the republic, and we thank you from the bottom of our heart,” Trump said to applause.

The president honored the troops from other countries before asserting, “And finally, there were the Americans.”

“They came from the farms of a vast heartland, the streets of glowing cities and the forges of mighty industrial towns. Before the war, many had never ventured beyond their own community. Now, they had come to offer their lives halfway across the world,” he said.

The president declared that the soldiers who came to Normandy that day “knew that they were carrying on their shoulders not just the pack of a soldier, the but the fate of the world.”

Trump took time to honor several of the American veterans present by name, including former Army medic Arnold Raymond “Ray” Lambert, who is now 98 years old.

Lambert was one of just six men who survived from his landing craft, was shot in the arm, had his leg ripped open by shrapnel, and suffered a broken back, but he continued to attempt to save others on the beach and in the water for hours.

“Ray, the free world salutes you,” Trump said as the crowd gave Lambert a standing ovation.

The president paused his speech at that point to walk over to Lambert and shake his hand. Lambert responded by tipping his “D-Day veteran” hat to the president....

I watched the recording of it a short while ago. What a tear jerker! Absolutely stunning! Then I listened to the full recording of FDR delivering his D-Day Prayer. Imagine any Democrat President today, asking Americans to pray continuously with him for the saving of this nation, it's culture, and it's religion. And to ask the Heavenly Father to protect the men fighting, and to embrace those who give the ultimate sacrifice. His prayer is just as appropriate today, as it was on June 6, 1944.

We face a different enemy today, but it's the same evil.

God Bless our Veterans, God Bless the current members of our Military, God Bless President Trump, and God Bless America!!

I wonder how the ignorant, insufferably arrogant FOOLS of the “main-SLIME media” & the LEFTIST DIMocRATS will try to “spin” the POTUS’s great speech to try to make him look bad to the other LEFTIST MORONS??

They'll try to say Trump plagiarized FDR's words.

Fabulous. Makes you proud to be an American.

The speech delivered an emotional wallop. It reminded me of the impact Ronald Reagan made with his famous “The Boys of Pointe du Hoc” lines delivered 35-years ago.

All those tombstones at the American Cemetery at Normandy mark the final resting place for the boys who stormed the beaches, the men who climbed the cliffs, the heroes who captured the guns and the Champions who liberated a continent.

I am so happy we have a President who honored these aging veterans and heroes. God bless them and our President.

Hell they had Reagan portrayed on SNL as thinking he was acting the part of president in a movie for a year or so. They made him out to be a senile actor who was signing whatever was put in front of him, thinking it was all part of the movie script. There are sure as hell more Dems taking anti psychotic drugs and seeing psychiatrists than Republicans!

That's why I use Bing as my search engine. They never fail to honor our vets, and the rest of the holidays.

WWII Mulberry Harbors at Arromanches

This is a great view of them from the air. I toured the D-Day Landing Beaches in Normandy in early May of 2006. Arromanches was our last stop on the tour.

Call me a curmudgeon, but I do not give a flying [blank] what those two lowlifes have to say about anything, no matter if it’s positive or negative.
