Let’s go back to basics. I started, in my thinking, from the premise that the Left is more generally communitarian in their approach than the right. That’s not really a shock to anyone here, I would guess. The Left focuses on groups, the Right generally focuses on individuals. I suppose I’ve never really asked myself before, though—why is the Left more interested in groups? And does that have anything to do with their marked decrease in sanity? Well, yes, I think it does.

Leftist impulses are bureacratic and control-centered, not laissez-faire.

Controlling 300 million people is muuuuch easier if you first agglomerate them into racial or sexual catetories, then leverage your control on the leadership of each of those, similar to military oranization of divisions, battalions, platoons, etc.

CONTROL.

It’s an easy thing to understand.

Individuals are completely worthless to Liberals.

People who retain their individuality and think for themselves, solve problems on their own, respect individuality in others, etc. cannot be manipulated.

It’s why the Liberals have waged war on individual excellence and individuality for so long.

Liberals want to convince everyone that we are all alike, one immense mass of ‘undifferentiated being’

In a community you live next to your neighbor. In a Communism you live off of your neighbor.

Interchangeable identical cogs in the social machine that can be manipulated or changed out for another unit out of the box. The general IQ level has to be reduced to 70 except among the Masters. At some point reading and writing will no longer taught as all the cogs will receive their instructions via the devices worn or implanted. There are many further ramifications of it all but I don’t want to be updating Aldous Huxley.

The left strong-arms community to affirm their delusion. The individual stands alone not being swept away by consensus but following a spirit from within. I heard somebody aptly compare left and right to AM and FM radio. FM is much clearer and detailed but a weaker signal (individual oriented.) AM is an inverted signal type and much louder just like a loudmouth liberal. You see they have to be loud and have the amplitude of community behind them because their ideas don’t have the capacity to stand alone.

Your comment touches on something that bothered me about the author’s language. He referred to leftists as more “communitarian.” That is a word with too many positive connotations for me.

To me, today’s progressives are not communitarian, but simply collectivists. Their guiding principle is, You will belong to a group and the group will do as we tell them to do.

If they succeed in disarming g enough citizens, they will move on to exterminating those groups they don’t like. It’s the nature of collectivist totalitarians.

The author is far too nice at this point in history, in my view.
