Openly embracing President Donald Trump didnt work for a New Jersey lawmaker fighting to keep his seat in the states craziest primary Tuesday.
Two-term incumbent Joe Howarth was easily unseated in the Republican state Assembly primary in South Jerseys 8th legislative district after employing a surprising re-election strategy when he lost his local partys support: running as a pro-Trump candidate, even though he previously bashed the polarizing GOP president.

Running as pro-Trump after previously bashing the President? Seems rather Bidenesque to quickly change one’s opinions and advocacies.

Republicans are not democrats! You can’t lie to them and expect them to then believe everything you say.
Republicans also have ethics and do not like to be played as a fool. Only democrats like that in their candidates, as in the battered wife syndrome.
‘Lie to me, cheat me, beat me. I will be yours forever as long as you say you love me.

Openly embracing President Donald Trump didnt work for a New Jersey lawmaker fighting to keep his seat in the states craziest primary Tuesday...well of course the spin the Star-Ledger puts on it is that running as a MAGA candidate was what led to his defeat, but in fact from what I hear he was in trouble with the party before that because he was rumored to be talking to the 'rats about changing parties as the senator, Dawn Addiego, in that (my) district did last winter - because he didn't get the party's support in the primary, he ran as an independent "MAGA" candidate to try to pull some of the Trump voters, but he was in trouble already........

Establishment Burlington County Republicans secured a key Assembly primary victory Tuesday against an off-the-line pro-Trump candidate,
only to learn theyll face an independent MAGA conservative candidate in the November general election. Assemblyman Ryan Peters and retiring Burlington County Sheriff Jean Stanfield defeated Assemblyman Joe Howarth who lost his partys support and R. Jason Huf in South Jerseys 8th Legislative District. Peters and Stanfield declared victory Tuesday night as Burlington County GOP Chairman Sean Earlen said they had about 70 percent of the vote combined.

Mitt Romney would be more reliable.

"running as a pro-Trump candidate, even though he previously bashed the polarizing GOP president."Headline says a pro Trump candidate fails to win election. Then you read the above about halfway down.
If a person only read the headline, they would think the candidate lost because he supported president Trump.
Another example of Goebbels Mushroom media Fake News.

If you don’t support Trump as a Republican, you’re a Demonrat. It’s just that simple. New Jersey doesn’t need two Demonrat parties.
