WASHINGTON, D.C., June 4, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – U.S. President Donald Trump has signalled that he believes the month of June is dedicated to homosexual rights and asked the world to “stand with” same-sex attracted people in countries where homosexual conduct is illegal.

In tweets he published on Friday, May 31, Trump also recalled that his administration is working for homosexual rights worldwide.

“As we celebrate LGBT Pride Month and recognize the outstanding contributions LGBT people have made to our great Nation, let us also stand in solidarity with the many LGBT people who live in dozens of countries worldwide that punish, imprison, or even execute individuals on the basis of their sexual orientation,” he wrote.

I have no problem with rolling back laws against it. It’s the classical liberal in me.

As long as he doesn’t overtly support the activity, I’m fine with it. It’s politics. Choose your battles.

He’ll still be condemned as homophobic and anti-LGBTQ.

Agreed. Trump is using this as his “Sistah Soldier” moment.

I’m no babble thumper but Romans 1:18-32 says it all. The ones who commit the acts and the ones who approve will all be treated the same.

PDJT is good at throwing out some chum to the lefties to sow confusion. That’s all this is.

So, do you think homosexual activity between consenting adults should be illegal? And if so, what should the punishment be?

I just worry about the slippery slope and things like the equality act will eventually criminalize true Christianity in the not so far off future. I see this aspect of culture war morphing into the a bridge too far and leading to real civil conflict and or real tyranny the like the USA has never experienced.

But will the president win over any of his enemies in the US by taking this stand?

OK, so you’re homosexual.....fine, that’s between you and God. What I find distasteful is making it something to be good, therefore you HAVE to admit it or you’re not a good homosexual......I resent those trying to make it a protected class worthy of laws against those who dare speak out about it. Don’t flaunt it.......just keep your mouth shut about it!!!

As much as I dislike pride month and all the ads about it everywhere, I don’t mind the president saying they should decriminalize homosexuality. There’s a difference between it being immoral and throwing people into jail or off roofs for that. Keep preaching the truth like the apostles did and make them see the error of their ways, as with other sins. I’ve Worked with, been friends with and been related to numerous gay or lesbian people over the years.

The Republican Party is going to surrender to the Gay agenda. SCOTUS ruled, now NR and the like will be staunch defenders of gay marriage and try to say how good it is because gay wedding cakes boost GDP. It’s what Wall Street wants anyway, and that’s the only people they’re truly beholden too.

It’ll be another Roe v. Wade, something to raise money off of but never any real results.

“So, do you think homosexual activity between consenting adults should be illegal?”

I believe that we are living the results of making it “legal”. None of it is good. It suggests that our ancestors had a wisdom we cannot comprehend.

I wonder if it is really so bad if the very few mentally ill are persecuted a little to protect a healthy society from their illness?

Trump is not addressing rightness or wrongness, but legality.

If he can exert some influence toward saving people in certain countries from very gruesome deaths, it will be a good thing.

It seems to me that any Christian should feel that way.

I have some gay friends who tell me that they approve of Trump, but can’t come out to their gay acquaintances about it.

And we’re supposed to be the intolerant ones.

I agree. Why does he feel the need to pander to those who hate him and will never support him, while demoralizing his base?
