America’s enemies are on notice about this president. (Has a never Trumper changed)
Washington Post ^ | June 1,2010 | Hugh Hewitt

Posted on 06/02/2019 12:19:54 PM PDT by Hojczyk

America’s enemies are on notice: The president is no longer an eloquent pushover professor-president but a ruthless real estate developer and television network brawler-president whose principle weapons are blunt candor and walking away from the table.

Trump is responding to both his domestic political opponents and America’s actual enemies with the same tactics: blunt, repetitive messaging and use of the walk-off. He is sometimes rude, often full of unnecessary slashes, but always direct. (It often seems as if Trump answers more questions from reporters in a walk to the helicopter than President Barack Obama did in formal press conferences.) And there is a transparent candor — what he actually is thinking at that moment — combined with a willingness to walk out of a charade.

Whether it’s Nancy Pelosi, the Chinese trade negotiators or the North Korean dictator, Trump will do a real deal or nothing at all. And he won’t be played. He will just walk away, and then he will tell his side of the story, repeatedly.

Trump has abruptly and with finality simply voided long-held shibboleths among the foreign policy establishment. He holds summits with bad guys and he doesn’t care if the media thinks he’s unprepared. He’s recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, which it is. He recognized the annexation of the Golan Heights as a fait accompli, which it is. He has allowed Jared Kushner to put forward a peace plan for the Middle East, but everyone in the world knows he’s got Israel’s back.

“Clarity before agreement” goes the saying of my radio colleague Dennis Prager. Perhaps Trump’s 2020 campaign can put that on a hat.

All you have to do is read

Trump: The Art of the Deal

If you really want to understand Donald Trump, then you must read this book. It gives insight into how he thinks. I read it during the election and read it again after Trump was elected. I don’t just know about Donald Trump, after reading this book, I think I actually know Donald Trump.

It is not about negotiating. a deal..

Time to Get Tough: Making America #1 Again

I just read the excerpt. Not believing this is the WaPo. There has to be something sinister going on.

I have no use for people and institutions who did their best to politically assassinate Trump on the way to his election win.

F’em one and all.

Hewitt is an ignorant SOB.

It’s taken the man since November of 2016, to come to this conclusion.

The rest of us knew it in late 2015.

Trump is one of us. He loves his country and is doing everything he can to get us out of the swamp. He ain’t complicated.

Yep. I used to listen to him on the radio as I picked the kids up from school. He Really wants to let you know that he knows the players and is in the mix of important people. He Loves the swamp. If he is warming up to Trump it must be because he senses the trend and feels comfortable enough that it’s “cool” now to say something.

Just wish WE would do more for the President, not just be such a silent majority.
There should be major protests and all that across the land.

But, the productive people of society (We) gotta get back to our jobs tomorrow.

There needs to be a We movement.

These Leftists will kill our President.

We will just go back to work at our jobs.

Just call me Nostrodumbass.

I’m sick and tired of seeing the best President of my lifetime attacked daily by domestic enemies.

“Domestic enemies”

Where have I heard that?

I’m not even a vet.

I have to disagree with you. You don’t get to the level of where President Trump is by being dumb. I believe he is very smart!! He’s Br’er Rabbit begging to be thrown into the brier patch.

“No mercy. No quarter.”

I am betting that the CEO of Ford, Jim Hackett, feels like he has been left holding a paper bag full of hot, wet shit as he scrambles to bring production back from Mexico to avoid the tariff.

President Trump gave them every warning.

I explain to Liberals that Trump keeps a modest public vocabulary so that the MSM can’t twist his words.

I didn’t say he was unintelligent. I said he was smart enough to surround himself with loyal experts.

Maybe what you are trying to say is he may not have the broadest education or experience usually associated with heads of state. He’s always lacked polish. The elites overlooked that when they wanted his money and popular personality connections (contact sports, music and television production venues).

He is not lacking in intelligence. His education was business-oriented. He has negotiating experience, but it is in narrower fields. He’s the kind of guy who prefers to read contracts and spread sheets to opinion and literary fiction/non-fiction/quasi-fiction.

So far, he’s smoked all the elitist poseurs.

The only negatives I can dredge up, IMO, is he tends to respond too quickly on a personal level and he seems to have had poor results in hiring at what would be the VP level in business, translated to government.

He’s been on a steep learning curve in governmental hiring. Seems he’s hit his stride there, lately.
