What happens when religion loses its influence?

The world has been watching China’s social credit system with grim fascination, a real-life compulsory Orwellian horror in which citizens’ lives are determined by their social score. Daily activities are monitored and tracked, then distilled into a single number according to rules set by the government. Intended to be fully implanted by 2020, its goal is to “standardize the assessment of citizens’ and businesses’ economic and social reputation.”

Standardize. That word alone should send shivers down your spine. Let the meaning sink in: standardize. That means conformity is enshrined and individuality and innovation are attacked.

When criticized about its draconian social order, “Chinese Communist Party publications scoff that Westerners are simply too unsophisticated to understand the wonders of the new system,” according to the New York Post. Translation: If you criticize the government, ipso facto you’re dangerous. Communist Russia used this argument to incarcerate dissidents in psych wards, where they were experimented upon. China is already “reconditioning” high-profile individuals to behave only in accordance with communist principles, such as popular Chinese movie star Fan Bingbing.

This is all very interesting in a distant and other-side-of-the-world sort of way, right? Or … are we facing something similar here in America?

Think about it. The U.S. is in the grip of a progressive mobocracy trying to standardize everyone’s thoughts and actions. Leftists insist you support their side or they will find some way to hurt you – economically, politically, socially, educationally, or in your career.

Creeping in from a lot of our viewpoints. Standardize? Impossible as long as individuals are, well, individuals. Without fail, sooner or later someone decides they want to be the boss of you. Once "they" are in charge, individuals like that will disappear unless they can be of some use to the elites. Stay below the radar.

So many of the DNC/Soroz/Commie/Nazi programs and proposals share this one thing in common: CONTROL you...by reducing or taking away your liberties, choices, options, opportunities, privacy, and money.

And eventually rendering you their SUBJECT (slave) (of government, which they plan to control forever, of course)

Religion has not lost its influence... it has become a religion of control and power with man deciding who and what is truth, what is justice, with zero absolute truth.
It is the religion of if it feels good do it. It is, circular madness. Our grandchildren will pay dearly... they already are.

What happens when religion loses its influence?

It's already underway and what we are witnessing as the result is the BREAKDOWN of CIVILITY from time to time.

The Virginia shootings and murders are an example.

The current papal head cheese is a good example of religion gone wrong. IMHO. Well maybe just IMO.

Currently, it appears that conservative maintain civility. Liberal shriekers, not so civil. I’m a lot more tolerant of their BS than they would be of me making a subtle comment. Be like TORA! TORA! TORA!

We need not be taken by surprise. Jesus Christ predicted all this in Revelation chapter 3 with the Laodicean church age, a time when the treasures of heaven mean nothing in relation to the people’s desire for riches of an earthly sort.

“And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

“I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches” (Revelation 3:14-22).

“Let the meaning sink in: standardize. That means conformity is enshrined and individuality and innovation are attacked.”

But is this anything new? Didn’t the Catholic church do exactly that, especially at the time of Galileo? Or even more so Islam? And doesn’t any strong cultural tradition impose rigid forms of behavior?

And don’t all our high tech masters spy on us and impose penalties if we deviate from their standards?

I think the Chinese got their idea from us - they just made it more explicit, centralized and methodical,

Indoctrination for decades. Looking back at my school years in the 50’s and 60’s it seems I can see more clearly now what was occurring even then, to some degree. But, at least I could diagram a sentence at one point. LOL!

Technically, religion never loses its influence.

What happens is people switch from one faith to another.

For example, they turn from the one true God and follow the god of government, the god of science, or some other god or gods.

“What happens when religion loses its influence?”

In days long gone the ‘keepers’ of the law/truth were Scribes and Priests..

Now? What are the majority of our lawmakers? LAWYERS !!!!

As someone said— God save us...

Bolshevism, Nazism, Red China, and the Khmer Rouge are what happens when religion loses its influence; all specifically removed its authority/influence.

"In a poignant video (below) by Harvard professor Clay Christensen, he relates a conversation with a Marxist economist from China finishing up a Fulbright Fellowship. The Chinese economist was stunned to learn 'how critical religion is to the functioning of democracy.'”
“'The reason why democracy works,'” said the Chinese economist, “'is not because the government was designed to oversee what everybody does. But rather democracy works because most people, most of the time, voluntarily choose to obey the law. … Americans followed these rules because they had come to believe that they weren’t just accountable to society, they were accountable to God. … If you take away religion, you cannot hire enough police.'”

If current generations of Americans read their own founding documents, and the speeches and writings of the Founders, they will find their liberty and freedoms firmly rooted in the philosophy stated above.

As Progressivism, that group-think ideology, has taken hold of the places of power in government, individual freedom and opportunity have shrunk and might have been even further in the rear-view mirror had the results of the election of 2016 not upset and delayed, for the time being, the Progressive Plan for takeover.

America's Declaration of Independence documents a "reliance" upon "Divine Providence," among other references to God, including that significant reference to the "Supreme judge of the world."

Progressives, following revelations of their recent attempts to overturn "the People's" choice of a leader in 2016, might reconsider the potential for judgment by a higher power than even "Special Prosecutors."

Once the egregious consequences of religion losing its influence are manifested, religion regains its influence.

It is systematic oppression by algorithm, and liberals want to do it here.

It is Sustein’s book “Nudge” implemented by AI and tools by Big Tech.
