Barack Obama asserted that the United States was founded on inequality, despite the Constitution enshrining equality into the law.
Obama said: You know Brazil just thinks the United States was founded on inequality and we have to admit that even though the United States has a Constitution that says, We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, At that time not only were blacks excluded, but women were excluded, and people who didnt own property were excluded.
Obama commented on his understanding of the founding of the United States during the VTEXDAY 2019 conference in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Wednesday.
Obama said that the Constitution gave America the means of inclusion through Democracy.
The more people we included, the more successful we became, he said.
Obama used a basketball analogy to illustrate his point, pointing out that the NBA was better than ever by including more international players like Giannis Antetokounmpo, a Nigerian from Greece who plays for the Milwaukee Bucks.
Now hes one of the best players in the world, Obama said, pointing out that if the NBA did not include international players, they were leaving talent on the field.
If you dont include women, you are leaving talent on the field, Obama said, saying it was in every countrys interest to include everyone.
He admitted that perfect equality was difficult to achieve, because of natural talent and work ethic.
The issue is not perfect equality, the issue is, are those of us who are successful willing to give back enough to provide a ladder of opportunity for others that are coming behind us, he said.

Too bad we included the obamas.
The reason blacks were counted as 3/5ths of a person in the Constitution is because non-slaveholding states didn’t want them counted at all for representation purposes but the slaveholding states wouldn’t join the union unless they got some representation for them.
It was a compromise, not too different from certain states wanting to abolish the Electoral College in order to increase their representation.
Obunga is proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that he has $HIT for BRAINS!
Many of the stupid would want have him back today if it were possible.
His ego is voracious. He needs to be above everything to feed it. His fall is greatly anticipated.
Would be nice if this ass and his husband Mike would just go away. What a solid piece of $hit.
Yo Barry.... forward me that link on the Internet.
Given how stupid members of my family are in their billing and cooing over the younger Soetero daughter's prom pix, I'm not all that surprised. :^)
He’s right on this. This country fell short on many of its ideals of equal justice.
The Muslims can have their slaves, little-boy rap and clitorectomies. The Mormons can have their polygamy. The rapid feminists can go about destroying men, more violently than they currently do. Pedophilia can be recognized as valid. Every disease vector can be brought in over the border. And etcetera.
Thus we will have the happy utopia that the socialists crave.
“When will he just drop dead?”
When he’s held accountable for his dastardly deeds by dropping about 8’. /s
Brazil was the last country in the Western world to abolish slavery. By the time it was abolished after years of campaigning by Emperor Pedro II, in 1888,
Obama’s starting to come across as creepy...
The issue is not perfect equality, the issue is, are those of us who are successful willing to give back enough to provide a ladder of opportunity for others that are coming behind us, .....Barack Obama stated.
well he did absolutely very little for the black population so as usual it’s just words passing over his lips!
This marxist antiAmerican a-hole is married to a chick with a dick
...starting to...???
“and people who didnt own property were excluded”
While this may sound elitist, the fact is that property owners were the taxpayers of the time - and there was no reason to offer voting rights to people who weren’t contributing to the pot. The Revolution was driven in part by the rallying cry of “No taxation without representation”, and today we are in the position we are because we allow representation WITHOUT TAXATION - non-contributors have a say in how the money contributed by others should be spent (and they vote to spend it on themselves).
We should still only allow taxpayers (and previous taxpayers) to vote - especially those paying income and property taxes (including property taxes paid indirectly through rents - and not rents paid by the taxpayers).
Barrack the constant travelling man who wants foreigners to think he speaks for America and her citizens. The man who was and is full of himself and pretends he’s still president, always looking for attendion.
true. America was not a perfectly equal utopia. Also irrelevant. No place is and in comparison to the rest of the world at the time.....and yes that is the only thing you can legitimately compare it to....America was VASTLY more equal than anybody else.
Vastly.
As in not even close.
The rule everywhere else was monarchy and no recognition of the rights of many at all. Compared to that, the Founding Fathers were beacons of Enlightenment far ahead of their time. But they were only men - not perfect angels.
Equality is earned it’s not a gift because of your sex or color.
See those who earned it.
What the leftists fail to understand, or to admit, is that America was founded on ideals that were unheard of at the time. All men are created equal ... was an ideal that no other country espoused at the time. The lords in England certainly would have laughed at such a concept.
Our founders created a country where almost any white man with property, in some states, any property, could vote. Was there another country that allowed all its males a voice in the government? If there was Ive missed it.
They also laid the ground work for all people to to be included into its body politic, and for the most powerful, free, nation in the world.
