Clinic can continue to provide abortions in Missouri, judge rules

Abortion services can continue for now in Missouri after a judge ruled that its license would not expire at the end of the day Friday. The state had refused to renew Planned Parenthood's license to continue providing the procedure.

Circuit Court Judge Michael Stelzer's ruling does not renew the license. Instead, the ruling allows the current license to remain in effect until the matter can be heard in court again on June 4.

Planned Parenthood "has demonstrated that immediate and irreparable injury will result if Petitioner's license is allowed to expire," Stelzer wrote in his decision. "The court finds that a temporary restraining order is necessary to preserve the status quo and prevent irreparable injury to Petitioner pending disposition of the case on the merits."

If the clinic had to stop providing abortion services, Missouri would have been the first state in the nation to block the procedure in more than 45 years.

"This is not a drill. This is not a warning. This is a real public health crisis," Dr. Leana Wen, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said Tuesday in a statement.

"Missouri would be the first state in the country to go dark -- without a health center that provides safe, legal abortion care," denying access to "more than a million women of reproductive age" living in the state, she said.

“...without a health center that provides safe, legal abortion care.”

Yeah. Real “safe” for the unborn baby, huh?

Yeah, so why isn’t our Attorney General - or SOMEONE doing SOMETHING to stop this nonsense? EVERY DAMN THING Trump tries to accomplish... EVERY baby step our side makes forward IMMEDIATELY gets shot down by some leftist asshole in a robe and our side ALWAYS, ALWAYS just immediately says “oh, well. Okay,” and nothing ever happens.

I’m losing faith in OUR side to actually have the balls to accomplish ANYTHING that we need to accomplish in order to keep our society and our country.

It’s a public health crisis, to not have a readily available abortion clinic?? Really?? A health crisis???

I can think of some more pressing threats to public health. Such as, feces in San Francisco, and the typhoid spreading in LA due to critical masses of homeless, trash, and the rats and fleas feasting on the mess in LA.

“This is a real public health crisis,”

Actually, this is all because, after ample time passed, Planned Parenthood failed to meet the public health standards set by the state. Nobody’s fault but their own.

First, I’d not say “go dark” to referring to the last abortion clinic being closed; maybe go light would be better.

But more practically how big a difference would it make? St Louis area women interested in an abortion just need to cross the bridge into Illinois whose state government is in the process of establishing abortion on demand so there will be plenty of clinics there. As it is, women in the rest of the state have to either travel to STL or to another state anyway to terminate their offspring.

Judges like this would gladly have given Kermit Gosnell a pass to continue his “health” services.

"...abortion care.”

Now there's an oxymoron if I've ever seen one.

Separation of powers as outlined in the Constitution. Someone or some party needs to file a suit, against the Executive branch, with the Judicial branch so that the courts can rule. Once done, the Executive branch cannot simply put a stop to it. They need to engage with the courts in some fashion to get a stay or an injunction. And good luck with that.

Laws are laws.
Unless progressive judges decide that they are not laws.
Oh well, guillotines can be used many times.

The state of Missouri will "go dark" if various ladies simply relax and allow their babies to go on living for even a couple more days?

I didn't used to think much of the phrase "diabolical disorientation." Increasingly, though, it seems the only term that really describes what's happening on a frightening, society-wide scale.

Circuit Court Judge Michael Stelzer’s ruling does not renew the license. Instead, the ruling allows the current license to remain in effect until the matter can be heard in court again on June 4.

This is when the State AG goes to the Grand Jury and secures an Indictment against the Judge for Operating a Medical Clinic without a License and ARRESTS HIM.

A Federal Judge has NO right to Violate Long Standing State Law, and he can NOT be pardoned for doing so either.

PROSECUTE HIM IMMEDIATELY, TODAY!!

I'm actually expecting the scumbag to get a pardon from our Lefty Dem Governor as he's on his way out the door.

So from now on any death or injury occurring to any woman who seeks an abortion at this clinic can sue this judge who overrode the decision of the state health department who declined to renew the clinic’s license.
