Mueller throws long-time pal, colleague Bill Barr under the bus in order to protect the Deep State
The National Sentinel ^ | 5/30/19 | J. D. Heyes

The real bombshell takeaway from former special counsel Robert Mueller’s self-serving press conference on Wednesday is that he just threw Attorney General William Barr, a long-time Justice Department colleague and friend, under the bus by insinuating he lied regarding POTUS Donald Trump’s “guilt” in Russian collusion hoax.

And in doing so, Mueller chose his loyalty to the deep state over he loyalty to a lifelong friend. That’s how serious this “battle royale” between all the president’s men and the Deep State really is.

First, for context, a little history.

As noted by The Atlantic, both Barr and Mueller served together at the Justice Department in the early 1990s in the administration of President George H. W. Bush (himself a former CIA director). Not only that, but as Barr told senators during his confirmation hearing in January, “the two men have had a relationship for years” — on personal, social, and family levels...

“...I was disappointed that it wasn’t Mueller.”
Me, I was hoping it was Johnny Walker Lindh.

This whole thing is a roller-coaster. It’s not good for my health.

My feelings exactly, I couldn't have said it better.

The DOJ and SC have since issued a joint statement say there is no contradiction between what Barr and Mueller said.

Sure looks like one to me.

Be serious. Barr is very well aware the damage Watergate did to the GOP. It took a generation to even begin to recover. I’m sure that Barr is well aware what has been done is MUCH worse and if he were to do what you beleive he will it could damage the Democrats irreparably. I doubt he will do that.

I wonder if these two were ever really “friends”.

Perhaps friends in the sense of “My friend across the isle” rhetoric we hear on the floor of Congress, but not “Hanging out this weekend and having beers” friends.

I would like to see Barr come right out now and say that Mueller is simply lying. THAT would throw the media into a wonderful tizzy.

Something really stinks there.

I can’t figure out why so much power went into protecting him..unless he was a butt buddy of obama

In sum:

Deep State Clinton investigation: “We have conclusive evidence of wrongdoing, but we don’t believe she intended to."

Deep State Trump investigation: “We can’t find any conclusive evidence of wrongdoing, but we’re certain he intended to.”

Exactly....

The Democrats are going to play the “impeachment card” right up to near election time...They will “do nothing” but carry on with innuendos, accusations, lying about Trump lying, stonewall, and cast removal of Trump...This is a Deep state/Obama Hillary stunt....these are very bitter people, sulking in their drunk mood of a lost election that was poorly handled.

I’ve always thought Modified Limited Hangout was a great term. I didn’t realize Nixon had used it — thought it was a more recent coinage.

Actually a short seven years after Nixon resigned Reagan was kicking arse. The GOP even held Senate majorities at times in the 80's. Though frankly I suspected yes, they'd be on the mat for a generation if not forever. Nothing that ails a party can't be fixed by the other party SCROOOOOOOING-up sufficiently.

Another Freeper pointed the same thing out yesterday.

Read the two statements carefully and you'll see that they DON'T contradict each other. It's easier if you look at them in a simplified form.

1. Mueller said they couldn't indict the President of the United States.

2. Barr said the legal issue that prevents the DOJ from indicting the President of the United States was not the reason they didn't indict him.

Put the two together and you have an obvious logical inference to make here: They didn't have enough evidence to indict Trump even if he WASN'T the President of the United States.

Mueller's point yesterday was gratuitous and phony ... because he didn't just come out and say what needed to be said one way or another.

As someone astutely pointed out yesterday on a liberal website ... If the legal impediment to indicting the President of the United States was the only reason Trump was not prosecuted, then surely there would have been a whole bunch of other indictments of people in Trump's inner circle who were NOT covered by this legal impediment.

Noriega took videos of visiting Congressmen at The Hotel Panama being “entertained” by teenage cheerleaders he flew in from the US through one way mirrors.

I guarantee Jeffrey Epstein and others were engaged to produce the same type of documentary evidence for the Deep State - which is why so much of the so-called GOP remains in the Totally Silent or NeverTrump categories.

Not really, they are both managing a limited, modified hangout right now.

Wastoute repeats the same thing on all these threads. Modified limited hangout is early 1970’s jargon for spy craft. It’s nonsense in this context, because what the coup plotters have been and continue to do is mostly out in the open.

There are all sorts of names for the games “they” play. The Syrians have a game that translates to “hamburger” they were talking about in a recent documentary. Over the decades they have used it successfully on a number of occasions, one on Tony Blair. It is a comedy routine from their past, they have video of comedians doing it. A guy is selling sandwiches. The meat has fishing line on it attached to the cart. The seller makes the customer’s sandwich in plain sight with the condiments going in, tomato, lettuce, etc. then “the meat” which he shows to the “sucker”, closes the sandwich and wraps it in paper handing it to the customer in such a way he doesn’t see the meat slide out under they guy’s arm. The sucker walks away eating his meatless sandwich none the wiser and the guy sells the same piece of meat over and over. “The Hamburger”. See if you can find the video of Tony Blair’s face as Assad says exactly what he told Tony he wouldn’t be saying. The hamburger.

Yes, MLH, “The Hamburger”, there are many ways to be a lying POS but reasonable people don’t tolerate “Hamburgers” again and again.
