Citing the ongoing internal investigation of FBI leaks to media, from the 2018 OIG report on FBI conduct, today the Office of Inspector General outlined a preponderance of evidence against a corrupt FBI Deputy Asst. Director. However, the DOJ is refusing to prosecute:

The most alarming aspect is the OIG finding of the Deputy Asst. Director leaking grand jury information to the media, and yet the DOJ is declining to prosecute.

Incredibly, the inspector general (IG) indicated, without explanation, that “prosecution of the DAD [deputy assistant director] was declined.” Instead, the investigation’s findings will be referred to the FBI for “appropriate action”. What the hell is going on?

Unfortunately this is a pattern; and bears striking similarities to the FBI finding clear evidence of former Senate Intelligence Committee Security head James Wolfe leaking the classified FISA application on Carter Page, and yet never facing charges for those leaks.

Preponderance of evidence is insufficient for a criminal conviction. You need evidence beyond a reasonable doubt for a criminal prosecution. If all they have is a preponderance of evidence, the prosecutor would not bring charges. If additional evidence beyond what the OIG uncovered is found or revealed then a criminal prosecution would be proper.

However, the Civil claims against the deputy director only require a preponderance of evidence. He could be fired and lose his pension. He could be sued personally for malfeasance. There are remedies.

The Federal Government is our enemy. They are not constrained by laws or the Constitution. They claim to be our betters, but they are nothing more than crooks, whose faces should be on posters in the post office.

At what point do we decide that we will not be governed by them? Why follow the law when they break laws and get away with it. A society that refuses to punish law breakers is no society. It is a civil war waiting to happen.

I enjoy reading Sundance but he never answers the question:

Who recommended US Attorney Liu to be a part of the transition team?

It would be a glimpse as to the loyalties of that member of the administration. I'm not looking for speculation. I've looked and can't find the answer.

It has become a problem worldwide in that prosecutors are deciding who can be prosecuted not on the preponderance of evidence but rather on who the person is or what their position might be. If they have done something illegal and with intent then there should be no leeway given. The only issue then is if there is enough evidence to convict. Take it to the courts and let the facts determine the outcome

Well, besides the fact that Inspector General Horowitz and Utah U.S. Attorney John Huber are both Obama appointees, absolutely nothing is going on.

I forgot to mention that Barr's special investigator - John “Bulldog” Durham - has previously accepted special assignments from Clinton AG Janet Reno and Obama AG Eric Holder.

They don't trust Trump. No one has any idea what the guy will say or do next, or what kind of secrets he has hidden away.

Movement Conservatives won't go near him anymore.

Trump allowed the Democrats and the MSM to flush Judge Roy Moore, EPA Director Scott Pruitt, Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke, Rep. Steve King, and two Conservative judge nominations right down the toilet.

Politically, it's all risk and no reward when you defend Donald Trump.

It is time for prosecutors and DAs from the states to step up and volunteer to save our country.

Go to Washington, drain the swamp, and perhaps be awarded with federal judgeships.

Control the news cycle?

The only news cycle Conservatives control is Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, and Tom Fitton from Judicial Watch.

Tucker is the youngest at age 50 (can't find Fitton's age).

Rush is almost 70.

historically the role of “special prosecutor” has been to button things up and render political ammunition found during the process to those who appointed them.

Trump was a DC newcomer..needed his own files in order to leverage the system.

He’s now got those

Trump now “owns the swamp” -nuthin’ going to be “drained” anywhere.

Trump came to DC without the “control files” on the key pressure points throughout the swamp. He’s now got what he needs for the rest of his terms.

“special prosecutors” tie up loose ends and answer to those who appointed them. Show me one that has done otherwise.

Thank you for this comment. It's been my experience that well meaning people who wave their pocket constitution in the face of evil have never sat in night court or a jury trial as they progressed. Our judicial system is designed to expedite cases thru plea bargains that have no basis in guilt or innocence, but rather the ability for a defendant to pay for representation. In the Mueller matter General Flynn took a plea because he ran out of defense money, while Mueller's team was flush with US tax dollars. Our constitution doesn't protect citizens against that kind of power.
