China’s Opens a New Window. military is powerful enough to replace the U.S. as the world’s dominant superpower, according to retired U.S. four- star General Jack Keane.
“They are growing quickly as one of the largest military in the world and also are technologically as capable as the United States,” he told FOX Business’ Maria Bartiromo Opens a New Window. on Tuesday.
“They’ve caught us in a lot of the advantages that we have had… the military capability is beginning to dominate the Pacific region and that’s what clearly is on their minds and they may replace the United States as the global power in the world today. It is their military that is going to help them do that as well as their economic engine,” he explained.

Keane thumbs his nose at the border, it is beneath the dignity of our troops to have any role there. He is a pompous ass most of the time.
America needs to return manufacturing, to America.

propaganda. Yes, China is capable, and yes they are growing, but will they EVER be able to replace the United States military in our global role? No. Never.
These jerks always downplay threats until it’s too late.
And by buying all that “Made in China” crap on our shelves, we helped build that military, because it’s the beneficiary of much of the manufacturing base in China.
Never say "never." Any one of those dems running for President would be perfectly happy with the US becoming a second-rate power.
Hey! So what if we’re funneling billions into our enemy’s military?! As long as I can save $1 on Walmart flip flops, it’s worth it!
It still stuns me that no one in power saw this coming from 1989-2016. Especially during the Clinton and Bush (I & II) years. It was as plain as the nose on anyone’s face and was totally ignored.
That being said, the threat assessment is always a bit of an exaggeration, designed to scare up funding. I remember the threat assessments when the USSR was still around. They were always 10 feet tall until they turned out to be midgets.
Keane seems to be a fixture on both Dobbs and Varney. On his last appearance on Varney he was red in the face about the need to end the "trade war" immediately, while simultaneously warning US about the China threat. He apparently has no clue that the both are related, and China, in its current form, has been created by American trade deficits. I find him really hard to take.

Maybe when they have a 13 carrier navy, skies filled with post-Raptor designs of THEIR OWN ORIGIN, A-10 type Warthogs, W88’s that Bill and Hilary didnt give them, and freedom loving steel eating special forces that can match our own patriots....then maybe.

The military industrial complex NEEDS a credible military threat, in order to justify huge expenditures. If no good threat exists, then it must be created. Thus, we hand over lots of our technology to China, and allow them to build a huge trade surplus they can use to build up their military.
After the collapse of the USSR, something needed to be created to replace it as a threat.
They are well on the way.
