Jeremy Berke Apr. 13, 2018, 12:26 PM"
Story highlights... "Japan started seeking its own rare-earth mineral deposits after China withheld shipments of the substances amid a dispute over islands that both countries claim as their own, Reuters reported in 2014. ...

It sounds like they’ve almost been saving this info for the next time China used withholding rare earths as a threat.
Gee, Trump needs to go to Japan.
OH...
WAIT....
I was thinking along the same lines. Just wait until the Chinese issues the threat. I wonder what other surprises we have in store for China.
That was convenient.
No doubt China isn’t too happy with that announcement.
Semi-infinite rare-earth...
The article is dated 4/18/19 so it has been out there!!
4/18/18 Oops!!!
I just want to celebrate!
Good article, although it is a little over a year old.
DAAANNNGGG Baby!!! What a coincidence. I hope I can sleep with this smile on my face.
China thought they had us AND the world over a barrel... But I’m guessing in a war situation China would bomb the island with the rare earth stuff... we need to buy some and stockpile it in a safe place.
I think you are right! Hence recent POTUS trip to Japan. This is very juicy. Winning.
Another day of living for “rare earth.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=37&v=a5LIDNbFadU
It looks like it’s far enough away from China to keep them out. The only islands in the distant neighborhood are Wake Island and the Northern Marianas, US territory. Better make sure it’s well-occupied, still.
We should have left Communist China in the economic dark ages, where they belong. Opening trade with China just allowed them to make much of the free world dependent upon them, which they of course have used as leverage to expand their influence.
They started mining the waters just off shore of Fukishima.
