CNNs Jim Acosta writes in his memoir that neutrality for the sake of neutrality was ineffective in the era of President Trump, according to excerpts published by The Guardian.
The CNN White House correspondent writes in his book, called Enemy of the People: A Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America," his confrontations with Trump or other White House officials have bothered some people and that he has been guilty of grandstanding and showboating."
Acosta also acknowledges accusations of bias against the Trump administration, writing Neutrality for the sake of neutrality doesnt really serve us in the age of Trump.
Acosta also writes that then-White House aide Hope Hicks called him in February 2017, only weeks after Trump had first called him fake news, to pass on the presidents compliments for being very professional today, with Hicks reportedly passing on Trumps message that Jim gets it.
Acosta speculates that Trumps diatribes against the media are largely for show, writing when he called us fake news it was, in his mind, an act, according to the excerpts.
The book also details Acostas side of an event in which his White House hard pass was temporarily revoked after a verbal standoff with Trump relating to immigration issues in which the White House accused him of assaulting a young White House staffer attempting to take the microphone from him. Acosta calls the accusation a disgusting smear, writing that everything in my life began to spiral out of control after his pass was revoked.
Acostas book will be released June 11.
Some wealthy conservative should hire private investigators, forensic accountants and find out who is paying these propagandists posing as journalists.

From what I’ve read, it is the networks themselves that are being heavily subsidized by uber-wealthy progs, hedge funds, investment banks, etc.(I suppose that is redundant)
It isn’t the individual so-called journos who are purchased. I imagine guaranteed publishing deals are part of their compensation or, perhaps a requirement that the network bosses see to it is included in the subsidy.
All the journos need is that degree from one of accepted, top-tier universities. I’m told that this is also true in literary fiction publication: only authors with an MFA are even considered. This must be to assure that they are indoctrinated and will automatically hit the required tropes. Note that, like MSM journalism, most literary fiction (as opposed to genre fiction) is unreadable. A scan of the reviews on Amazon for traditionally published and lauded works will show a lot of readers simply find this stuff turgid and unreal. That describes most journalism and books by journalists.
I started really waking up in 1996 or so. I can still recall my shock at the discovery of how much demonic influence there is in the world. As time has gone on, I’ve come to understand that _everything_ we have learned, been taught, is written as history is one huge, complicated, purposeful lie. I’d always had a skeptical streak, but it goes far deeper than most people can even grasp. I can’t be the only one who experiences disgust and despair in the face of these realities. It’s overwhelming.
Unraveling this mess may never become complete.
How about fairness for the sake of fairness?
The bastard wouldn’t know neutral if it smacked him in the face. His hard pass should be permanently revoked.
The excuse of petty tyrants for thousands of years.
Acosta is playing the Dan Rather Card, be nasty attacking and high profile and do it repeatedly and you the journalist gets to be the news story and eventually will have a spot on one of the LSM channels.
Except that game plan no longer works.
There are too many media outlets and discussions and he just looks stupid, not heroic.
Neutrality for the sake of neutrality doesnt really serve us in the age of Trump.
I have no idea what that means.

It means that since all journalism, history and entertainment media is meant to *serve* an overarching agenda-driven narrative and since Trump is hell-bent on exposing this, they can no longer even pretend to neutrality.
The powers-that-be have declared unrelenting war to the death and the gloves and masks are off. Given the choice between keeping up the pretense of objectivity and taking out, not only Trump, but also the entire philosophical basis of traditional, classical liberal, Enlightenment thought, they have chosen to abandon appearances because they rightly discern their very existence and that of the basis of their power is at severe risk.
This is not confined to the USA. It is a global war. The Australian and EU elections of the past two weeks have the elite power mongers reeling. Suddenly, they are having to fight battles on a myriad of fronts. They cannot waste time and energy and have decided to go straight for the throat of all the populist nationalistic leaders and their supporters, everywhere. Appearances be damned.
Acosta’s colleagues and bosses and their shrinking audience of the inculcated understood him perfectly.
Despotism (Encyclopedia Britannica film, circa 1946)

A community is low on a Respect scale if common courtesy is withheld from large groups of people on account of their political attitudes.
...in a downright despotism opposition is dangerous whether the despotism is official or whether it is unofficial...
A community rates low on the Information scale when the press, radio, and other channels of communication are controlled by only a few people and when citizens have to accept what they are told.
See how a community trains its teachers
...these students are being taught to accept uncritically whatever they are told. Questions are not encouraged.
And if books and newspapers and the radio [and facebook and youtube and...] are officially controlled the people will read and accept exactly what the few in control want them to. Government censorship is one form of control. The newspaper that breaks the government censorship rule can be suspended. It is also possible for newspapers and other lines of communication to be controlled by private interests...
Democracy (Encyclopedia Britannica film, circa 1946)

The newspapers of a real democracy meet these tests...
Newspaper checks.
1. Balance of coverage
2. Disclosure of source
3. Competence of staff

Journalism is no longer about presenting objective facts.
It's about creating a 'narrative'.
Well said
This just proves he’s in the wrong profession!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That’s pretty much where we are.
The Ministry of Propaganda sends out the narrative and it is regurgitated by multiple outlets.
Anyone outside that narrative is attacked and marginalized.
Fake “trump quote” this week
forged national guard memos aired on CBS news near the end of an election
Both times the journalists claimed “fake, but accurate!”
I despise Acosta, but I really despise those screeching, screaming females that are no more polite than common heavy Mafia mob members.
No class, no common sense, no respect and no relevance.
“I wonder how fast his book will be in the bargain bin of history.”
They shouldn’t even waste the employee man-hours to set up the bargain bin with that tripe. They should give the distributor a hard pass, forcing him to take it straight to the book recycling plant.
He's playing with words. He means, "Journalist objectivity and fairness doesn't serve us in the Age of Trump".
Accosted is nothing but a partisan player masking as a journalist.
That Twitter quote is right on the money!
You beat me to it!......”us”????????
Does this idiot even have a clue of why its “Fake News”?
Follow up question Jim:
Just who the Hell is “US”??????..
If you answered... us Globalists Marxists and never Trumpers it would be the 1st time in your life you reported a “fact” and wed put you up for a Pulitzer!
Yep!
Journalists admitted long ago they get into journalism for progressive social advocacy. Limbaugh did pieces on this in the mid-90s; polls at journalism conventions/seminars demonstrated it, and the great majority polled said theyre Democrats.
And we here know that proggies can never, ever, ever be wrong or (Moloch forbid) admit any error. When obviously, unhideably wrong (as when Trump won), they enter cognitive dissonance and become quite unstable. I think this causes much of the lefts looniness their inability to admit, learn from and grow after their errors.
