The Navy says it is reviewing whether service members violated Defense Department policy or regulations by wearing a uniform patch with the words Make Aircrews Great Again during President Donald Trumps visit to their ship in Japan.
The phrase emblazoned on the patch, along with a likeness of Trump, is a play on his campaign slogan. The military has uniform dress codes and regulations against partisan political acts while in uniform.
In a brief statement Tuesday, the Navy said only that the matter was under review by Navy leadership to ensure that the wearing of the patches did not violate policy or regulations.

GOD FORBID THEY SUPPORT THEIR CIC!
Instead of investigating it, why not just get a ruling from the Commander-in-Chief?
Payback time will come one day. I pray God all stand strong and do not forget.
Exactly. President Trump is President and CIC
I’ll wait for the military guys to weight in on this one.
Not a log of wiggle room, I would imagine, in what you want to put on your uniform.
But what the hell do I know? :)
In the military, rules is rules.
Its the same to me a planes nose art, messages to the enemy on bombs, or remember the Alamo. Its USA and its why we fight. IMO
I’ll NEVER forget or forgive how this President was treated by the left and the media.
Darn, I can’t find a picture of the patch. However, I’m proud of them all for honoring PDJT like that.
Why would any captain allow any member of the media on board?
No political statements in uniform.
-——These guys are deployed in harms way and the bureaucrats are worried about a little patch. -——
The point is there are uniform regs.....
Before you know it, how many different patches will be worn?
Brave soldiers.
Cuck leadership.
I have to admit, my reaction to these sailors wearing a Trump patch is very different than it would have been if sailors were wearing an Obama patch when he was president. But then again, the situations are different. One man is a patriot. The other was/is a subversive anti-American traitor and usurper. Wearing an Obama patch would be like wearing a patch of Stalin, Castro, or any other enemy of the country. A Trump patch would be like wearing a patch of George Washington. Maybe that’s the difference. How about we let service members wear patches of pro-American patriots if they like, but prohibit them from wearing patches of anti-American traitors? Simple solution. Problem solved.
That’s correct. Also, no campaigning on duty, for any gov’t employee...Hatch Act.
Except when that Army ROTC unit was forced to wear high heels in 2015

This Trump patch shows loyalty to the CIC.
There is no reason to say that every patch would be allowed.
The commanding officer of Springfield armory in WWII had his initials inscribed in the stock of each rifle the boys took to war. The bs sucks each CIC leaves his mark. Deal with it.
“my reaction to these sailors wearing a Trump patch is very different than it would have been if sailors were wearing an Obama patch when he was president.”
No patriotic American who loves his country would ever wear an Obama patch.
