The former British spy who produced a dossier describing alleged links between Donald Trump and Russia will not cooperate with a prosecutor assigned by U.S. Attorney General William Barr to review how the investigations of Trump and his 2016 election campaign began, a source with knowledge of the situation said.
Christopher Steele, a former Russia expert for the British spy agency MI6, will not answer questions from prosecutor John Durham, named by Barr to examine the origins of the investigations into Trump and his campaign team, said the source close to Steeles London-based private investigation firm, Orbis Business Intelligence.
Trump has given Barr broad authority to declassify intelligence materials related to the investigations. Last week Trump ordered the heads of U.S. spy and law enforcement agencies to cooperate with Durham.
Steele, who had previously collaborated with the FBI on issues such as corruption in the global soccer organization FIFA, was hired in 2016 by Fusion GPS, a Washington-based private investigations firm working for lawyers representing the Democratic Party and Hillary Clintons presidential campaign.
Steele produced for Fusion GPS a set of controversial and sometimes salacious reports describing alleged contacts Trump and his team had with Russians before the election.

We’re already well past the “sell by” date on Comey’s indictment and prosecution. That was supposedly guaranteed to happen a few weeks back. {{crickets}} so far. Nothing will happen to Steele. Barr and his team will have to show some results or they’ll end up as reviled as feckless, recused, sleepy Keebler elf Sessions.
Hall him off, in a 3 a.m. raid....(extradite, if need be).....then, lock him up, Roger Stone or Paul Manafort style.
Where is the Comey Report?
Haul....not hall.
Sheeeesh.
In a lock box in a warehouse, guarded by ‘top men’ in an undisclosed location, never to see the light of day.
The whole concept of having justice served on the leftists just keeps feeling more and more far-fetched and improbable. Lucy still holds the football and Charlie Brown will probably never kick it.
Were already well past the sell by date on Comeys indictment and prosecution.
Yep. So much low hanging fruit. So little will inside the beltway to hold criminal Democrats responsible.
Whatever happened to the senate hearings Graham promised? The House Dems have already had multiple hearings and orchestrated a vicious attack on AG Barr. All Linda Graham does is make TV appearances and toss red meat to the GOP base. How stupid does he think we are?
Why make it optional?
No problem, start seizing bank accounts and blacklisting the company.
He probably knows who Gareth Williams is.
It’s déjà vu all over again!
Charge him with foreign interference with our election.
If we indict him they will give him to us. But we have to indict him first.
Yep. Whatever happened to the tick-tock that was going to go boom a few weeks ago?
I’m starting to feel like the sucker that keeps buying snake oil because I really want it to be true.
At least get the goods on ONE person (like Comey) charge him. It won’t ruin the entire case.
My guess is they are trying to figure out how to charge people without having it reach Obama. If they arrest Comey and then he decides to rat out Obama...what then?
There has to be a way to get his testimony.
British have never been worth a damn PERIOD
Time for a little Mossad-like Eichmann pick up and delivery.
Is there a “deadpool” on this clown? If so, the only question is who to beat on getting him first, the KGB/SFB etc, MI 6, the CIA (forget it, Brennan cut their balls off), the Aussies (doubt it though the new government might help locate him for us), Mossad (doesn’t have a real dog in this game, might just sit back and say, read the book on how we caught Eichmann), some ex-SAS who don’t like traitors, etc.
Snatch and Grab is not just a carry-out burger joint.
I think one of them is Kim Philby.
If he’s in the UK, the UK is a signatory to the Hague Service Convention. So serving the expletive-deleted should not be an issue.
The UK government is almost paralyzed at the moment and there will be a change of leadership and perhaps an election soon.
Trump is due to visit soon.
There is an extradition treaty between the US and the UK.
Steele has far fewer friends in the deep states of both countries.
