The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued an order that will allow Indiana to enforce a law mandating the burial or cremation of fetal remains following an abortion.
The order marks the first case under the more conservative Supreme Court makeup to challenge the parameters of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision that legalized abortion nationwide. The Indiana case was closely watched since the Supreme Court began discussing it in January. The justices met about it more than a dozen times.
The order by the Supreme Court overturns an appeals court decision from the 7th Circuit that held Indianas stated interest in the humane and dignified disposal of human remains was not . . . legitimate.

Says a lot....”sanctity of life”...might say it best.
Well isn’t that just a shame Planned Parenthood won’t be able to profit from the baby body parts market in Indiana. If their taxpayer money is cut off then they might as well close up shop. What would be the point because we sure as hell know none of it is about helping women.
Seems like a lot of trouble to endure for a clump of cells. /sarc
As 10 Bears said, “it shall be life.” Can’t wait to read the syllabus.
I would guess the purpose was to prevent woman from having babies in order to sell the babies parts after abortion. There could be whole “farms” of woman doing it.....sex slaves...pimps...payoffs to woman getting pregnant...abortion docs...abortion nurses...planned parenthood...body parts brokers etc. could be in on the action.
Yeah, because a HUMAN BEING was killed.
Excellent move!
Abortion? OK, but no dead baby part sales from it. Then well see how altruistic Planned Parenthood actually is (not).
Does this prevent the sale of baby parts?
So what was the breakdown?
Yes it’s going to put a huge crimp in Murder Inc. profits.
Per curiam! RBG concurred in part and dissented in part. Thomas wrote a concurring opinion.
At least it does in Indiana.
“at least it does in Indiana”
Don’t SCOTUS decisions apply in all US circuits? They are the law.
For example, McDonald and Heller apply everywhere, not just Chicago. So does Brown v Board of education. Miranda, etc.
Tyvm. Justice Thomas wrote “the supposed constitutionality of abortion.” Bam!
You are so right.
Fetal remains = human remains =The human fetus is a person.
Human life demands life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Thus the end of Roe v Wade.
It cannot come soon enough.
