WILLIAMSTOWN, Ky. (AP) In a story May 24 about property damage at a Noahs Ark attraction in Kentucky, The Associated Press reported erroneously that flooding caused the damage. The damage was caused by heavy rains over a period of two years.

The ap jumped in with, "In the Bible, the ark survived an epic flood."
The AP got its information from the movie Noah with Russel Crowe.
No one there actually has a Bible.
Also a TV episode:

I thought it rained for 40 days not two years.
Rain over a two year period. Not a two year continuous rain.
“According to Finkel, Genesis was assembled between 597 and 538 BC during the Jewish exodus in Babylonia.”
That’s from the article you posted. The “researcher” of course is an idiot. Genesis and the other early books of the Bible were based on oral stories that are much older. And not stories as in “made up”, but stories that had a strict prescribed manner of telling due to there NOT being a written language.

Right I noticed right away the damage was not to the ark.
Scholars who know Hebrew and study the Bible say it was assembled during the time of King David or Solomon, about 1000
B.C. by one author. He did use multiple sources, some he names directly in the Bible, such as the Book of Jasher, the Book of the Wars of the Lord, etc.
I am referring, of course, to the first five books of the Old Testament. Finkel probably knows better.
The Flood was Way before King David.
Bkmrk.
Its clear the author twisted this story to jab at the Bible. Not surprising in todays hateful climate.
What has that got to do with anything I said?
You REALLY should study who, when and where the Bible was written.
I did not think the damage cited was typically a covered loss. Seeing now that it was over a two year period make it a far less covered loss as it means the owners did nothing to prevent the problem.
