More than 34,000 Illinoisans have lost their right to own a gun. Nearly 80% may still be armed.

As many as 30,000 guns may still be in the possession of Illinois residents deemed too dangerous to have them, according to a Tribune investigation.

In an analysis of data released for the first time, the Tribune found the state has repeatedly failed to ensure that people surrender their weapons and gun permits after their Firearm Owner’s Identification cards are revoked, resulting in the breakdown of a system put in place to deter gun violence.

In all, nearly 27,000 Illinois residents over the past four years have not informed authorities what they did with their guns after state police stripped their licenses, according to the analysis. That means law enforcement has no idea whether 78% of revoked cardholders since 2015 still possess guns.

The uncertainty has created a public safety risk that has been compounded for decades by antiquated policies and limited law-enforcement resources.

Among those with dismal compliance rates are residents convicted of domestic violence or people who had their cards rescinded because of mental health concerns, the Tribune analysis shows. About 3 out of 4 such revokees failed to tell the state where their weapons are, despite making a combined 5,000 serious inquiries about purchasing guns before the revocation.

Yep, four people to write this. And not just any four but Annie, Stacy, Cecilia and Sarah. The feminization of everything continues apace. Is it any wonder we’ve become a nation of children?

Gun stores will not even allow you to handle firearms without an FOID. It’s been around from the late 60’s and was instigated by governor Richard Ogilvie....a “republican” no less. A lawsuit claiming the FOID unconstitutional was filed a year or so ago and so far has been sustained. But now thanks to the filthy Chicago AG the case has been appealed to the state Supreme Court where it is pending decision.

Well notify them they’re REALLY, REALLY, REALLY in for it if they don’t. And, who made the decision these peons are TOO dangerous? Guess I missed that clause in the 2nd amendment.

Illinois interpretation:

"A well regulated disarmed militia being necessary to a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms regulations shall not be infringed."

While I believe that genuinely crazy people shouldn’t have access to weapons of any kind, if it were me, I think I might opt for the Jeff Spicoli defense.

“Hey you had some guns when you filled out your permit.”

“Well, something must have happened to them.”

My philosophy is that if someone is too dangerous to have a gun, then they shouldn’t be loose on the streets.

So, by complying with the law and obtaining the FOID card, the gun owners identified themselves as gun owners to be targeted for confiscation. Those who won’t obtain a card are safe.

Can’t be that dangerous, or there would be a lot more murders in Illinois. Subtract gang bangers killing each other in Chicago, and the murder rate isn’t all that bad.

Sure thing girls. Exactly where do you expect your bankrupt state government to get the funds necessary to enforce their stupid law? Guess its time to raise taxes and pass more gun laws right?

Remember this is a BLUE state. Massive non-compliance is the rule with Lefty gun grabs.

We have seen this same thing in NY, CT, CO, NM, and in EVERY state that passes draconian anti-gun laws. The free people of America simply ignore the unconstitutional Lefty Laws. There is simply no way to imprison or punish millions of people. Lefty is powerless to enforce his own laws.

They want to take guns from honest, non-violent citizens and deliberately and intentionally leave them in the hands of violent criminals, so they can waltz right in and take what is ‘rightfully’ theirs from their ‘oppressors’.

The Left is NOT out to stop crime. They are out to destroy freedom under a socialist banner. Lefty cannot tolerate free men who can say, “NO!”

For Lefty to move his agenda forward he must disarm free men. —A daunting task considering there are 300 million guns, and a trillion rounds of ammo in the hands of free men. Worse still is the ability to “print a gun.” Add to that the knowledge of making gunpowder and Lefty has lost the battle before he has begun.

But the siren song of dictatorship lures the Left like a moth to the flame.

This is I due to the Lauttenberg amendment. Anyone convicted of a
misdemeanor domestic automatically loses their 2nd amendment rights for life. So, your arguing with your wife and trying to leave the home. She physically prevents you from doing so and you push her off. She calls the police and your charged with all sorts of good things, even felonies. Because of the felony you plea to simple assault , no jail time, not worth the risk of a trial, for most people. At that point your gun rights are gone forever.

This is a violation of the equal protection clause but it will not be addressed. If you were to be found guilty of simple assault on a stranger you do not lose your gun rights.

This is nothing but a ploy by the left to disarm the citizens and occurs daily on a nationwide basis.
