The property overcome by the encampments near Edinger Avenue belongs to the Union Pacific Railroad and has long been a place where the homeless camp, officials say.

Early Wednesday morning, 16 people were kicked out of their tents. One resident says he has lived at the encampment for a year with his rabbit and cat.

The men and women staying at the encampment were offered a place at a local shelter but they reportedly refused.

Complaints from business owners and the community prompted Santa Ana leaders to secure a warrant to remove the nuisance.

Thoose evicted are not homeless. They are squatters, pure and simple.

Over time, if allowed, the tents will be replaced with more suvstantial structures.

“were offered a place at a local shelter but they reportedly refused.”

And there you have it, what most SJWs don’t want to see. Some homeless WANT TO BE HOMELESS.

“One resident says he has lived at the encampment for a year with his rabbit and cat.”

That kills me and I see it often. These people can barely support themselves, if at all and they take on having pets. I feel as bad for the animals as I do the people.

Some homeless WANT TO BE HOMELESS.

"Some." Yes, but I contend most of them have chosen it as a preferred lifestyle. Not unlike those filthy hippies of the 60s, living like animals in their communes, etc.

I suspect drugs and alcohol are also a driving factor. These tent cities/ubiquitous "homelessness" seem to thrive in states that have legalized dope. Addicts love nothing more than to be in the company of other addicts.

and they take on having pets

Beggars locally have taken to displaying their cuddly little pets. It's the "tear jerker du jour" these days. Previously, when America was collectively bowing and scraping to all things military, bums had their little signs scrawled with "Vet. Need help."

But that's apparently lost its marketing value, so here come the puppies.

The railroad should pay the salary for one full time employee to hereafter monitor the property and call the Sanata Ana police to come kick out every trespasser every time anyone starts to camp there. Once those encampments quit happening because of the constant surveilance and calls to the police, that one railroad employee can be redeployed to another area of track line where such encampments are going on.

I’d like to say that Santa Ana could be sued for not doing a good job of always going in and kicking out campers along the rails. But even though the property is publicly accessible, the city will argue it is private party and the railroad ought to build high fences all along it. Yet again, even if the railroad did that, the fences would get broken in enough places and folks would trek back into the area.

Maybe the city and the railroad could make peace with some sort of “contract” the railroad makes for greater police protection of the areas along the tracks.

Got nothing to do with Trump, Orange County has been cleaning out homeless camps for a while, just like they removed all the campers along the Santa Ana riverbed and 57 FWY last year.

IT"S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT TRUMP

Yep, that is exactly what I meant. Thank you for stating it better than I did.

Way back in the day, the railroads had their own police. They didn’t tolerate trespassers on railroad property and they weren’t particularly gentle about it.

Not really ... he/she made an inquiry, with a question mark, and got back an undeserved shout.

Oh so now it's the deportment Nazi.

Asked a question my...........they were taking a dig at an obvious typo instead of actually addressing the comment I made and then you decide to stick you nose into something that concerned you not the least.

You must lead a very boring life.

How many times are they going to clean up those areas? Seems to be the story every year.
