If Equality Act Becomes Law, US Will Experience Catastrophic Loss of Religious Freedom
CNS ^ | May 17, 2019 | Tony Perkins

Posted on 05/18/2019 6:22:57 AM PDT by xzins

As the Equality Act (H.R. 5) just passed in the U.S. House of Representatives, I remind you, that this is an all-out assault on parental rights, on the family, and on the millions of people of faith in this country.

The legislation goes far beyond just quarantining faith behind the four walls of a house of worship. This act quarantines faith within your mind and says that's where it must stay. It creates a world that punishes those who exercise their freedom to believe and live according to those beliefs. No institution or person of faith, be it a school, church, synagogue, mosque, business, or non-profit will escape its Orwellian reach.

The Religious Freedom Restoration Act will be committed to the “memory hole.” We will then experience a catastrophic loss of religious freedom in America, and, as a result, every American, those who believe and do not believe, will suffer the consequences.

The American people must continue to speak with great force and clarity in opposition to the “In-equality” Act.

Tony Perkins is president of the Family Research Council.

The inequality act will make CRIMINALS out of Christians and those who want male and female sports and those who want gender based restrooms and etc.

Yeah well since it has no chance of being veto proof let’s worry about what we have to.

The Constitution does not guarantee freedom from religion.

Again, since it will be vetoed let’s concentrate on legitimate current threats.

Wasted energy on something that won’t happen when there are So MANY fights we CAN lose right now doesn’t make sense.

I would advise religious believers to plan for massive civil disobedience if this passes (which it won't). Start hiding assets to avoid civil retaliation, and be prepared for jail if criminal prosecution is pursued.

There is no way government can prosecute tens of millions of conscientious rebels who demand the right guaranteed them by their Creator to worship as they please.

It is a direct violation of the 1st Amendment’s freedom to assembly clause.

The “Equality” Act won’t become law. The US Senate, and President Trump, if necessary, will see to it.

Sure wish the Dems would spend my tax dollars on something useful.

This passage right here is where concern needs to be focused:

Pay attention to any LGBT legislation with the term "conversion therapy" included. This will be used against parents, mark my words, when they try to reason with their gender and sexual identity-confused children. They're already pulling this crap in Canada where parents are finding themselves in violation of the law.

We need to call it something like “The INEquality Act”

We need to detail the hatred for women that it shows.

HR 5 shows, undeniably, who is behind Democrats — Satan.
Democrat behavior shows, undeniably, who they honor — Satan.
Democrat supporters like PP, Soros, SPLC, MSNBC show, undeniably, who’s side they’re on — Satan’s.

In the end, it’s still the old battle of good against evil, Satan-lovers against God-lovers.

I can still freely post the above on FR — hallelujah!

It'll be the Muslims who rebel against this stuff. Muslims communities will get a pass. Christians will be shamed, blacklisted, lose their jobs, etc.

Even if passed and signed into law (Which is very doubtful) it will not withstand the scrutiny of the USSC.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"

But that's probably stating the obvious.
