Small Florida county that backed Trump one of two targeted by Russians: reports

A small county in Florida's panhandle that voted overwhelmingly to support President Trump in the 2016 presidential election is one of two that were penetrated by Russian hackers in that election, according to reports.

Russia's spy agency, known as the GRU, got into Washington County's voter registration database, two officials told The Washington Post. Trump won the 25,000-person county in 2016, garnering 77.4 percent of the vote, according to Politico.

County Elections Supervisor Carol F. Rudd, declined the Post's request for comment on the reported breach but told the newspaper that federal, state and local authorities need to be able to communicate with confidentiality.

The Mueller report said not one vote was changed, so what did the hackers do?

This is non-news. There several counties in the US that were won by more than that. Guarantee you no votes were changed.

Did/does the WashCompost go to such depth over certain precints with 110% of the PEOPLE, not only registered voters, voting for ONE candidate (LIB, naturally)

It was pointed out by either C Plante or R Limbaugh that if the Russians colluded in the general election and HRC won the popular vote, who were the Russians ‘helping’?

If the person the ‘Reds’ are backing and cheating for gets 3 million less votes than the one they were trying to upset, sounds like someone just throwing money down the rabbit hole.

And how so did these so called Russians penetrate and hack the election. Voting machines are independent of themselves and not online hackable.

Yawn....

If this is an example of the Russians trying to meddle in elections, they are exceedingly bad at it.

This is pure propaganda by the media trash.

The story is written with innuendo and the writer wants to reader to believe that there was something nefarious in the Washington County results for 2016.

They want you to believe the Russians are responsible for the “staggering” margin of victory for President Trump in the county.

The problem with that is that it’s a GOP stronghold. The GOP ALWAYS wins by staggering margins there.

The pathetic RINO with his magic underpants crushed Mmmmmmm mmmmm mmmmm Barack Hussein Obama by a 73-25 margin in 2012 in the same county. DeSantis and Scott each got more than 77% of the vote in 2018.

This is media trash.

The Democratic Media Complex feeding Democrats their talking points narrative; ‘proof Russia interfered in the election to elect Trump’.

I see this as BS.

The left is going to go down hard in this investigation into how the spying began.

All but the most brain dead moonbats recognize that Russian Collusion is dead. Obstruction is dead. Impeachment is dead.

The worm has turned on this. What they sowed, they are going to reap, and it is going to be a bitter harvest for them.

This is just another BS slop of mud they are throwing against the wall.

And just because I say I think it is BS doesn’t mean I don’t think it didn’t happen or the Russians didn’t attempt it. I accept the Russians are completely vamping for a return of the Soviet style operations and act that way.

What I see as BS is the media’s approach to it.

I’ve been here in the panhandle since October 11th last year. I’m a contractor working on storm damage. Not a chance in hell Trump didn’t win that county and not a chance in hell he won’t.

The thing that’s bizarre is that the Russians actually wanted Hillary to win, something that nobody mentions. My county in Florida got hacked and our GOP poll-watcher data destroyed (so that GOP poll watchers couldn’t go to their assigned sites). To my knowledge, nothing was ever done about it. This was during the second Obama election.

My county used to be solid GOP, but a lot of northerners have moved here so it’s now purple, and the Dems/Russians obviously felt they had a chance to suppress the GOP vote and permit fraud by doing this.

Given the ease with which you can find the tools to alter IP addresses to leave a false train and even adapter IDs, I take the "official" word on who hacked what with a grain of salt no matter who they're blaming at the moment.

The Chinese and Israeli governments are the two premier hacker groups on the planet, not the Russians or shady groups with hop names.
