The news that Attorney General William Barr has tasked Connecticut U.S. attorney John Durham to “examine the origins of the Russia investigation and determine if intelligence collection involving the Trump campaign was ‘lawful and appropriate.'”
According to reporting by Dan Bongino’s team, Durham has previously investigated corruption in law enforcement and the destruction of CIA videos. Perhaps Durham’s most notable case was his unravelling of the FBI corruption and cover-up involving mobster Whitey Bulger and the Boston FBI field office while Robert Mueller was FBI Director.
As Stephen Z. Nemo reported for Communities Digital News, Bulger, notorious head of Boston’s Winter Hill Gang, was allegedly a confidential informant for the FBI. But it turned out Boston-based Special Agent John Connolly Jr. was the one working for Bulger, not the other way around.
He and fellow FBI Special Agent John Morris, we now know, were hit men for Bulger’s gang, and Morris even once served as director of the FBI’s training facility at Quantico, VA.

We would have the proof of a conspiracy, and justification to investigate who abused their power and purjured themselves when authorizing the unmasking by framing someone else.
Furthermore, Power is in the State Department, the FBI is in Justice, and the CIA is in, what, Defense? That would mean that two Obama departments played Kerry's State Department for fools while Obama and Kerry were wooing Iran?
Getting Power to attest to not authorizing the unmaskings in her name would be yuge. It would be the predicate for everything else that follows.

The insurance policy was the whole Fusion GPS, Crossfire Hurricane and hastily created Dirty Dossier, plans created after the fact covering for the real crime which was being committed by the Obungo Admin: the illegal use of NSA signal intelligence on a grand scale (for years by many individuals) to illegally monitor their political opponents.
Admiral Rogers discovered the illegal use of raw data by contractors in April 2016 and with the help of the FISA court, shut it down.

They needed a cover story and tossed it together quickly, clumsily and used the Steele Dossier as their central theme. It's why the Weissmann/Mueller Report spent so much time on it, even though everyone of consequence at State, FBI, DOJ and the White House knew it was just fluff.
The weak links are the non-professional and non-military in this mob-like hit. The former reporters at Fusion GPS wouldn't know what to do against a serious interrogation. Same goes for the computer nerds at CrowdStrike. Little Mz Paige (who seems to have that Heels-Up Harris look about her in my opinion) will melt if confronted with serious jail time. They would be the low hanging fruit who won't mind ratting out people to save their own skin. They will roll on the rest.
You are going to need them to convict the hardcore: Brennan, Clapper, Comey, Yates, McCabe and ValJar.

I think Rosenstein decided to cooperate when it was discovered that he would possibly wear a wire while with Trump. Things seemed to move along after that
Why would they commit all of these crimes to protect someone? Has to be a lot of illegal money involved.
