CHICAGO (AP) — Police have arrested a Chicago alderman on charges alleging that he lied when he reported his car had been stolen in January.
Police say a news release that Alderman Proco "Joe" Moreno was arrested Tuesday night on felony charges of insurance fraud and obstruction of justice. He's scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
Moreno reported on Jan. 4 that his car was missing.

Alderman “Proco Joe” Moreno (1st) is a vile loser. He was bounced by his own constituents in the recent aldermanic election. He is an embarrassment.
He was Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s point man on the effort to ban Chik-A-Fila from entering the Chicago market for failing to embrace “Chicago values.” It was all a smoke screen to gin up gay support for Obama in 2012. Chik-A-Fila’s Christian owners opposed SSM. It was the typical Axelrod type of political stunt.
The whole matter was grandstanding as the restaurant chain opened several locations in Chicago shortly afterwards, including one across the street from the iconic Chicago Theater on State Street.
