He's a poster child for sex offenders having a very low rate of not re-offending. By the time he was arrested for this he had, in previous incidents already destroyed his career and his marriage when news of early sexting came out.

You would think that someone, faced with those harsh realities would realize "sending these sex messages isn't worth it" and even "I am such an idiot". And maybe even get professional help to try to change his behavior.

I don't know if he did seek help, but if so it obviously didn't work. Now he's not only an ex-Congressman by a convicted felon and registered sex offender with a minor.

It's a pretty long fall, but I still would not be surprised to see him re-offend. Because most sex offenders do. It's an overwhelming compulsion, apparently. Or they are sociopaths and think they won't get caught (again, in his case).

Either way I won't be surprised to hear more from him at some point in the future, none of it good.
