Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris joined CNN's Jake Tapper Sunday for a wide-ranging interview about trade, impeachment, the Mueller report, gun control, health care, immigration, and more.
Tapper asked about her support for Medicare For All and her call in a January town hall on CNN that she supports "eliminating" the private health insurance industry.
"That's not what I meant!" Harris said.
"I support Medicare for all but I really do need to clear up what happened on that stage," she said. "It was in the context of saying let’s get rid of all the bureaucracy."
TAPPER: I want to ask you about something you said that night.You said on stage with me in January that, when it comes to private insurance -- quote -- "Let's eliminate all of that. Let's move on."
HARRIS: Yes.
TAPPER: Now, you later said we don't need to get rid of all private insurance.

Of course your intent is to "eliminate the private health insurance industry", as you stated originally. This walk back is as phony as you being a tough prosecutor in CA.

If they wanted Medicare for All, they could have proposed that under Obama. But it isn’t Medicare for All, which could be about a two page bill, its a 3000 page bill followed by 60,000 pages of regulations, followed by hundreds of volumes more.
How about this: lower the age for Medicare to 59, and otherwise leave it alone. That lowers the cost of private insurance for everyone else.
She meant what she originally said, but it wasn’t polling well. People want freedom, not Communism. So now “that’s not what [she] meant.” Phony Commie Bitch.

Just make it so that if you take early retirement, you also pick up Medicare. That way the Medicare program will get Part B payment to Gov 3 years earlier.
