Wayne LaPierre expensed $39,000 in clothes in one day, $18,300 for car and driver, ad agency says; NRA says board has full confidence in him
National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre billed the groups ad agency $39,000 for one day of shopping at a Beverly Hills clothing boutique, $18,300 for a car and driver in Europe, and had the agency cover $13,800 in rent for a summer intern, according to newly revealed NRA internal documents.
The documents, posted anonymously on the internet, provide new details of the clothing, travel and other expenses totaling more than $542,000 that Ackerman McQueen Inc. alleges Mr. LaPierre billed to it.

This guy has to go. The NRA made a mistake.
Example number one million that every office should have a term limit.
This has been trash the NRA week at the MSM
They need big time damage control
See? Lapierre is now a DC swamp tour guide. Time to go Wayne. NRA does not have president for life’ titles..
So? Dude's gotta look good. If it's not a regular expense, I got no issue with this.
$18,300 for car and driver
Same thing here. Over what period of time? A month? That might be excessive. A year? Less so, in fact, leaning toward miserly.
NRA says board has full confidence in him
Me too. Wayne has done Yeomans Work for the NRA.
oh the drama!
WSJ is no friend to gun rights.
Don’t expect fair coverage.
Reinstate Ollie if they ever want another dime from me. Board tried to cover the corruption or at least put their heads in the sand.
No he is not president for life as such. But his contract states that after he is retired he is to be kept on as a “consultant” for life at almost the same pay he receives now.
Oh, and his clothing allowance is $250,000 a year.
“Oh, and his clothing allowance is $250,000 a year.”
SeriouslY?
He thinks he is the king of the NRA.
Anyone who wants y see wantonly excessive spending needs to check out Roger Goodell.
The 2nd amendment is too important to be left in such a board which overlooks such malfeasance. Fire him and the board.
“This guy has to go. The NRA made a mistake.”
Oliver North (the establishment spook) was the mistake. Are you a member?

Well, okay. But I wonder how it would go if 1,100 NRA members received this letter: “Thank you for your $35 dues. We will be using your money to buy Wayne some new shirts.”
I’m guessing that the letter wouldn’t be very well received.
Side note: You’re right about the WSJ being biased. So I’ll qualify my above remarks by saying: If the story is true...
Something tells me that the car and driver was actually security for his NRA tour of Europe. Dont have a problem with that one. Custom made suits run $3,500 a piece. Custom shirts around $400 each. I need more information.
If Ollie thought the way to resolve this was to do it in public where it would do the most damage to the NRA and help the gun grabbers the most, then I’d vote to double LaPierrer’s clothing allowance.
If this is where my dues are going, I’m out. I’ll find another gun rights organization.
