Filmmakers are now vowing to boycott the state of Georgia after the governor signed a controversial abortion bill earlier this week. The boycott is a big deal because, according to the states website, more top-grossing films are produced in Georgia than anywhere else in the world.
So far, at least three major production companies have said they will no longer be filming in Georgia. One of those is Christine Vachons Killer Films, which produced the Oscar-nominated movie Carol and Oscar-winning film Still Alice.
Killer Films will no longer consider Georgia as a viable shooting location until this ridiculous law is overturned, Vachon tweeted Thursday.

Uh, "Killer Films will no longer consider Georgia as a viable shooting location until this ridiculous law is overturned,". 'Killer films'? Oh the irony. If folks aren't allowed to kill bothersome tissue masses, we're out. I believe that's called bullying? Butt, it's what they do.

Funny how they mention the Oscars in this article, given that more and more are not bothering to tune into that narcissistic festival of limousine socialism.

I think the Georgian economy can withstand it. If not I’m sure the decent people of Georgia will endure their “punishment” to save babies from being murdered.

Oh, rktman, you presented the irony so well!
It’s not like Georgia’s willing to sell it’s state’s legal soul to have Killer Films in production in Georgia to begin with!
Such vain folks, those actors and producers!

So, if you don't let your children be exposed to pedophiles, we won't do business with Georgia. Or, if you don't start eating dog, we won't do business in Georgia. Further, if you don't start throwing gays from rooftops, we won't do business in Georgia. How about this, if you you refuse to open Satanic worship centers, we don't do business in Georgia. I can think of a thousand other absurd demands to make....
What??? So, if you don't do what we tell you, we want to ruin you financially. Tolerance? Consideration of others? Inclusion? Really?

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Freakonomics analyzed this. The subsidies result in a net loss for the states doing the subsidizing. Politicians love it because they like hobnobbing with celebrities, but it is a net loss for taxpayers.

How ironic that the all-time top-grossing film (give it a few weeks) Avengers: Endgame I just saw last night had as its main credits and thanks to the State of Georgia and City of Atlanta.

Here’s the thing that worries me. At the same time you have some states saying that abortion is perfectly legal up until (and in one case some time after) the moment of birth, and other states saying it’s illegal after fetal heartbeats can be detected. The same thing is happening with gun rights. Some states trying to smother them and others strengthening them. Some states devising ways to keep President Trump off of the ballot. How long can this divisiveness go on?

Perhaps Georgia could become the nucleus of non-Hollywood, non-union film production. Make it easy to set up a non-multinational corporation controlled film studio there, with emphasis on lower budget, higher margin movies and TV productions.
Several other southern states that have been pestered with boycotts might join in, so the concept might expand to other products and services.
Leftists are big believers in monopolies, because they know they cannot compete on a level playing field.

Honestly if you have to ask that question you don't fully comprehend what is going on here. The divisiveness will certainly continue. In fact it will escalate. The sides will become more and more defined and polarized and ultimately it will turn physical; read as civil war. Whichever side wins establishes their version of a Utopia and then, and only then, will the current divisiveness end. And so it has been throughout human history and so it shall ever be until Jesus comes back. Choose wisely.
